Ok so I had a discussion today with my salesman, he was trying to figure out why my Unicorn, (hybrid) was scheduled yet since Ford had it "show" (moved to priority 2) a few time and then back to priority 10. He's hoping that I'll get selected next since I'm #3 at the dealership and they have 6 allocations for next week...so maybe, just maybe with the right amount pixey dust and dragon fire my Unicorn will get scheduled!!

Now something else he said in an offhand manner caught my attention, which I though might bear mentioning. He said that he hopes my Maverick will get schedule next week because Ford shuts down it's US factories on DEC 17th for Christmas break! Say what?! However, he did say that he wasn't sure if that also meant factories in other parts of the world, say like a little old factory in Hermosillo Mexico also shut down for that long!! I'm certainly not trying to be a little black rain cloud (Winnie the Pooh quote) or give anyone another ax to grind about how Ford screwed them over.

Does anyone in the MTC universe have a friend, relative, baby mama, Uncle 3x removed that works or did work in a Ford factory and could confirm or deny this statement? I believe @Administrator had a high level contact (EPA date) who could maybe find out of Hermosillo shuts down for two weeks in December also. Please do not shoot the message, I just thought with the end of the year looming and build dates becoming fewer and fewer that we might just have accept our free FITS gear and the fact build dates for this year are nearly gone when you close up shop for two weeks.

So with that I'll be over on the meme thread laughing along with the rest of you who go there for Maverick build relief! :)

I'm nowhere near as close to a build date as you appear to be. But as you say, closing down for a couple weeks is gonna hurt bad. By the way, do you know if that FITS gear comes with vaseline, I may need it.

By the way, gee thanks for pissing in my punch bowl. And a Merry Christmas to you too Hermosillo.

I thought you might need a bit of cheering up before the holidays! This will give me more time to practice polishing and ceramic coating my Harleys!! 🤣 o_O

My dad worked at Ford and they did shut down about a week before Christmas but he retired in 2003 so things could have changed since then.

Is it SOP for the Hermosillo plant, non UAW facility.
That's the million dollar question that I'm trying to get an answer for.

I don't know about Hermosillo specifically, but it is a standard practice to shutdown production and perform equipment maintenance during that time. Gotta maintain the equipment if you want to maintain production.

Not sure how Ford does it, but my not Ford auto plant shuts down Dec 24- Jan 2. That being said it's not unheard of to run emergency production over shutdown. We ran one shift of production over summer shutdown the last two years trying to catch up from Covid down time. Unprecedented times.

There is a forum called (Blue oval news) in there is a sub forum for employees only, you can read it but are only suppose to participate if an employee.

Probably not find a lot of info about plants outside US, but shutdowns may be similar inside outside US.

Well Ford could certainly justify running its production full bore through the holidays with all the orders it has! However, I hope they shut down for few days over the holidays to give folks time off because working on holiday sucks when you'd rather be with your family. I've had more than a few holidays away from my family and it's hard to focus on the job.

Agree with you 1,000%. Spent 10 Chrismas's & New Years in Baghdad Iraq. Know the feeling well.

Different note, same subject. I noticed on another thread: ⏱ Maverick Scheduling Upcoming Week (10/25) For Production Build Week 12/20
It shows Cleanup Scheduling Week 49 and Build Week 2021-12-20. Does that mean they will start production on Monday 12/20 and Christmas will be that Saturday. Still time to roll a few down the line and then come back and finish them the next week I guess. Just a thought.

I think that's a pretty good idea about what will be happening over the Christmas break at the Mexico factory.
