Just curious…anyone know which company is providing the chips needed for this Maverick?

I ordered my XLT in velocity blue back on 6/12! Waiting patiently! 😊

Okay. I’m not close to being mechanical, so I have no clue which chip is needed! 😂

When they reported chip shortages delaying production., any idea which chip they were referring to?

No, but I'll bet there is about 1000 chips in that car.

Chip is a generic term (frequently misused) when people are talking about various semiconductor devices. These can range from CPUs, like what your computer uses, to integrated circuits. If you have ever looked at a circuit board, a lot of those little black square thingys will be what people referring to as "chips". There are many different functions performed by "chips".

On the boards used in various products I work on the chips are from different manufacturers. Board design is likely proprietary info, so I doubt we could know what semiconductor products are used, without seeing the boards.

Currently it's the chips that go into making the RCM (Restraint Control Module) that controls the airbags and seat belts, not just one particular chip.

Watch this video:

It is on the :

2013-2019 Ford Fusion Hybrid Inverter (SOBDMC/TCM)

This inverter (or a newer one) is installed in the Maverick Hybrid.

This will give you an idea on the massive amount of semiconductors (IC's, Chip's) in a modern vehicle.
