2025 Maverick XLT, hybrid, AWD, towing package
I got into my Maverick yesterday to run an errand, and the AC was not working. Shut down the truck, got out, got back in, and still no AC (big deal as I live in AZ). I drove for about 15 minutes, and when I shut down at my destination, the truck kicked on the check engine light. I decided to finish my errand and trouble shoot on my return. When I powered the truck back on, the check engine light was still on, but the AC was now working. None of the local Ford dealers (3 of them) were answering their phones or taking any service reservations as they were in the process of switching all their stuff over to new ownership. Made an appointment with the closest available dealership an hour away (had to do the software update for the trailer/towing recall anyway). The code for the check engine was related to the AC (no shocker there), and they could not find any problem with the AC since it was now working. They cleared the code drove it around on a few short trips, and the AC worked everytime. Gremlins? Stray voltage? Why does the separate AC electric compressor kick off the check engine light?
If this is the earliest anyone has received a Check Engine Light?
