changing trim levels for MY24

I ordered a Lariat with a hitch for MY23. Because the base lariat now has all the bells and whistles, It's out of my budget.
Can I change to an XLT and keep my "place in line" for a MY24. I recieved the order comfirmation from Ford for the lariat.
Chances of getting an XLT look better as well.

No vin. I havn't been scheduled . I think the chances of getting scheduled for the 23 or pretty slim.

Contact your dealer today. As in right now. They must place a '24 order with the same name & 4-digit Order Code as your '23 order, to get a priority build and a private price offer by Ford to cover some of the price increases for '24. Also, they must not cancel your '23 order. This tells the system it is a rollover from '23.

My understanding is you can change trim levels any time up to when it's in production.

The one question that's still open is how they'll handle the private offer. Will it basically be a coupon based on your 23 order you can apply to any 24 build? Or will it only apply to the same build you placed in 23?

I think it's the first one but I'm not sure.

I'd sit on the order until you know how private offers work. You have time since they won't start making 24s until October.

The way I understand it is they look at your MY23 order and what an equivalent MY24 order would be and generate and offer based on that. That offer can be applied to you MY24 order regardless of trim and options.

MTC and my salesman, who said Ford told them to do it that way.
