2024 XLT with about 3,000 miles and just finished the transmission fluid replacement. I checked the level before I started and it was level to the fill plug. I drained the oil into a clean white container to inspect and there was absolutely no metal particles. The fluid was a nice red color. Filled it back up and it took exactly 4 quarts. The only thing I notice was the drain plug was not as tight as it should have been.

I did my first oil change at 1,500 miles, next one 3,500 miles later at 5,000 and every 5,000 since. Never has used any and OLM never went below 50% oil life left. Almost 35,000 miles and no problems.
im with u i do 1000,5000,10000,etc been doin that for years wouldnt change even if u paid me..

You guys change you transmission fluid that often? Seems way excessive. Its not like engine oil that gets dirty from blow by past rings. I was thinking of doing my trans fluid when I reach 30K .

I change 2020 Fusion AWD 2.0L Trans fluid once a year which is every 5000 miles. All other oils/Gear lub also.

Transmission oil right? Not engine oil? Changing transmission oil/fluid that often is a complete waste. Engine oil YES. trans NO. BUT hey if that makes you happy go for it.

So when you had a rear wheel drive (assuming you had one no idea how old you are) did you change the gear lube in rear axle every 5K miles too? if so lol. Had to remove pumpkin cover for that.

You said all , Brake fluid too? I flush mine every 3 years on brake fluid.

Oh I do change my engine oil every 4K miles.

On my vehicles with standard rear axle I only checked level when I greased the Drive shaft U joints. Rarely changed RA lub unless I was changing something like gears or bearings. With my AWD Fusion internal clutches I change fluid every year.

I usually suck out brake fluid and refill Brake Fluid every 3 years and when I change Brake Pads.

Normally in the past I change trans Fluid AND Filter at 40000 miles. About 15 qts.

The Fusion has a 6f35 Trans that is very sensitive to dirty fluids. Converter Lockup chatter and sticking Valves in the Valve Body. Also cannot change the filter and it takes just 4-1/2 qts of Motorcraft LV. At 5000 miles changing it is overkill but I am under there so I do it.

Thanks for your comments. I am 89 yo!7

If it really needs that is not a good design.. Many here don't change motor oil that soon. Not familiar with the fusion trans. BUT my sister had one. She got rid of it at about 100K. I doubt. she ever had trans fluid changed . It was still moving fine.

There’s a Fusion hybrid rebuilder on YouTube who says to change fluid every 60k and you’ll avoid almost all issues associated with the eCVT. I saw a good report on the Escape forums that mimicā€˜d that sentiment.

FWIW I changed my wife’s Prius fluid at 40k and then at 140k. The 140k change was essentially pointless. Fluid was a nice red color with zero stench, still smelled almost new.

I plan to change the Maverick every 30k but that just because I’m crazy. When I hit 30k I may stretch that to 60k we’ll see.
