Almost all the other Maverick hybrid owners I’ve met in person are gray haired retired guys. 🤷‍♂️ EB owners I’ve met, have typically been young guys. Likely a good mix across the spectrum on all accounts. Given that the majority of users on this forum are 60+, your assumption seems flawed.
Majority of hybrid owners are 60+, and majority of Mavericks sold are hybrid. I done good maths!

I’ve made an observation,

Ecoboost guyz find answers in the manual first and if they can’t then they ask in here.

Mavbrid guyz ask in here first.

I think it’s because us old farts buy Ecoboost’s
and the Youngers buy Hybrids.

It’s a different mind set. Us old guys consider asking for help without first trying to figure it out on or own means we were defeated, we were not up to the task.

BUT !
It seems the younguns do a lot more to their Mav’s.
Us old farts just drive em.
My first oil change the dealer didn't reset the OLM, I'm 47 and googled it lol! I haven't done the oil change myself as of yet but have done some random "modifications" 😆 seems to be a random mix with the Maverick owners

At the risk of offending some of the viewers and readers and contributors, I feel compelled to offer the following:

Require all new subscribers to review and understand what RTFM means and to pledge to do so prior to posting any questions. A bonus prize would be teaching people how to search for the answers before posting the questions.

That’s all. I’m standing by for all criticism, but I must say as a 74-year-old owner of a hybrid. My skin is pretty thick..

The funny thing I find here is the two videos. The same question, one video 1 minute 48seconds, the other one over 15 minutes. Of course I didn’t watch the 15 minute video; what does that tell you about my age? And yes I still do my own maintenance!

You don't say. I'm 71 with a hybrid🤣🤣
There's old and then there is old at heart.
There's also young and then young at heart.

Some people are just old and/or old at heart and cannot accept new technology or that things change with time. They don't adapt well. I'm 50 so I'm probably in the middle range of ages of everyone on this forum, but I love trying new things.

The Maverick is my first ever Hybrid vehicle and I couldn't be happier, I have zero regrets choosing this over the Ecoboost. I could have stayed stuck in the past and went with the gas engine but that's not my way of doing things.

Us old farts?
There are likely exceptions to the rule.
I guess I'm a young man, as I'm only approaching 74, and that's nearly my hybrid by Cheops..
In my case I prefer the great mileage, and the Mavbrid has more power than I typically use.

If I really want to go fast, I can do that on a motorcycle, where speed is a lot more apparent.

As far as reading the manual, probably more would do that if it wasn't pushing 600 pages long and is about as entertaining as watching paint dry. With a pdf copy though, I find searching and reading an applicable page is a better use of my time.

I agree with you that finding what you can on your own has its benefits, but so does asking for help when you can't find an answer. No one is obligated to reply, so to me RTFM is just as bad as someone not trying to do anything for themselves.

I'm young at heart and old in my ways 😅 I don't like "new" things although technically the Maverick is new and I'm loving my ecoboost.
