Center Display - Complete blackout

So glad I have physical buttons.

Everything still "works" in my truck, but I have a complete blackout of the center infotainment screen. Touching it has no effects either.

Luckily, I can adjust the radio, and I can adjust the climate control just fine. Also with ApplePlay attached I can play music from a phone, and I can get turn-by-turn audio directions. I just can't see anything.

The unit is not broke. And it's not a blown fuse. I get the blue oval logo every startup.

The steering wheel buttons work.
Once in a while, it works.
Hopefully it's a software fix.
It will need a dealership visit after the holidays.

I have not done any recall work since 2023 so there are some outstanding items.

Ironic how I just made a post about the new 2025 Maverick and how they took away most of the physical buttons for the HVAC on some of the trim levels!

Have you tried a reset?

Try these:

1. Reset

2. Turn vehicle off and wait a couple of minutes, restart and see if that works.

3. Disconnect battery wait a few minutes and reconnect.

Just want to ask the obvious, without judgment… there is a screen “blackout” button that cycles through “on,” “clock,” and “off.”

Don’t know how one would hit it twice accidentally, and I would think once you start interacting with CarPlay it would come back anyway, but who knows. Good luck.

Side note: what happens when you put the truck into reverse?

Have you tried a reset?

Yes.

Multiple times.

It acts like a loose wire or something.
Lately it "comes and goes" while driving. But the touch control does not work while "lit up". Maybe not software. May need a whole new unit.

Trick will be for dealer to experience the same.

Even if you hit the screen off button, it normally always defaults to Screen On, next time you restart the truck.
