I didn't know where to post this but here goes. I got a new mavvy coming in 2025. I work for the dod. Can I come home buy it, buy an extended warranty through grainger or whoever to go through? Disconnect the battery....cover it up and be fine for a year when I come back? Please help
I don't know what steps would be right. Any help ot advice would be greatly appreciated. I do know I want to keep the truck. Lariat hybrid 4k, BAP, moonroof, eruption green, Tailgate lock.

No, not like that.

Drain it completely of fuel as ethanol does not like sitting for extended periods of time. Put a good battery tender on it. Cover. Relax while away.

What battery tender would you suggest?

Maybe leave 1 or 2 gal of premium? Or just do it empty? I'm sorry this is a first for me and I'm nervous. I just want to do it right. Not have no issues when I come back from Germany

You'd be losing a third of your factory warranty with it sitting. Why not buy a 2026 in a year?
Wish I could answer that. I'm not going to go on a guessing game of what's going to be good at that time frame and not be good then. I know what I want. Just curious to adult thoughts as I am an adult at 43. I appreciate the knowledge of others. I'm sorry I've never sat a vehicle for as long as I'm asking?

Since you know what you want and that is a 2025 why not just let this one slide back to the dealer and then order one later in your time away rather then give up all that factory warranty along with (presumably) make payments and insurance payments on a truck that's waiting at home for you?

I know you don't want to risk a 2026 based off previous comments but you will have nearly a year of being able to order a 2025 still before order banks presumably open for 2026 and 2025 is cut off.

If you must store it I would try to find some non-oxy 91 and use that being it will have no ethanol it will store alot better then even premium 91/93 with ethanol. My concerns would be rodents during that time more then the fuel going bad however. Just recently had a friend with a 2024 have a mouse destroy several main wiring harnesses in the truck in just a weekend of the truck sitting!

Unless you are 100% committed maybe cx your order and re-order a 25/26 before you leave Germany. Seems silly to let it sit and make payment's and min insurance coverage for the year you're gone. They aren't going to quit making them anytime soon. 🙂
If you must buy it then I recommend indoor storage if not already sorted.

honestly I agree, I worked dod and everything, and I wouldn't do this. just buy it next year, maybe better colors, prices, and maybe even cheaper.
id prob buy a 7/100k warranty if I was doing 1 year wasted personally
