I have read that the hybrid can only operate in electric mode when in reverse. Do you expect any issues for reversing short distances when maxed out with the load capacity?
Interesting point. Ford spec sheet shows that the electric motor is 93 kw and 173 lb/ft of torque.
While the ecoboost is 275 lb/ft maximum, that is at 3,000 rpm. In a backing up a hill, torque converter stall situation, the ecoboost will stall at around 1,800 rpm, which is just starting to come on its boost curve and is probably making no more than 175 lb/ft.
While I haven’t tested the hybrid in reverse, the torque numbers would suggest that it would be on par with the ecoboost.
