@Jah. Stay as safe as you can. Update us when you're able to!
🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 for minimal damage at the worst.
Raining steadily all day long and some wind . Orlando area to receive worst of it overnight . probably lose electricity 3 am . Will fire up generator ( still the same honda 2000 ) about 6 am . hopefully won't lose to much sleep . Prepared as possible . emergency setup has been completed .

I lost power a couple of hours ago and they got it back up within 1/2 hour. I can't complain about that. I do wish my gen had remote start now that I have it setup. But it is ready to go for the next outage. Stay safe!

UPDATE: We just barely escaped having our cars from being totaled. What blew us all by surprise was the flash flooding from the outer rain bands that pelted us for several hours straight. We were probably getting 3-5 inches of rain per hour! It got so bad that it almost got into the house! And that's despite living on an incline! Not to mention all of the tornado warnings with several touching down in our county and neighboring counties. It's been beyond nerve racking. The cars and house were just barely spared.

And what makes matters worse is that we're nowhere near over yet! We still haven't experienced the hurricane force winds that are expected to arrive overnight into tomorrow morning. There's no denying that with 50mph wind gusts, we're gonna lose power. So this might be my last post for a while until it's restored. I'm hoping that won't be the case as I'm trying to stay optimistic but that can only get you so far. Milton, just go away already!

Hurricanes span hundreds of miles. The feeder bands have lots of turbulence. It shouldn't get really bad here until about 2:00 in the morning. If I read the graphic I just saw correctly, I shouldn't get more than another 2 inches or so of rain, which would be great. But wind will definitely be an issue.

Just heard from my 3 elderly cousins living in Ft Myers. All are ok. So far minimal damage.

I still have power, internet, and landline service here in Orlando. My street isn't flooded, either. I won't be able to check outside for a few hours, though.

Lost power at 4 am . got up at 5:30 am . still windy and raining . Used power/storage station to get tv on for updates on Milton . fired up honda 2000 generator at 6 am . powering tv , light and chest freezer . We have natural gas for stove and hot water . using power station to turn on WiFi . Won't check exterior around house until light (sunrise) enough to see . suppose to be clearing at about 10 am .

UPDATE 2: We didn't lose power, no water intrusion in the house, and the cars are spared. A little water got into our Jeep probably from the high winds since the doors are made to come off. Everything was shut tight too. Since we have a big oak tree in the front yard, there's tons of debris to pick up once it calms down. But it could've been a lot worse. Patches of my town were struck by tornadoes and a few of my friends I've been in contact with don't have power. Thankfully, we're all okay and hopefully, this is it for the rest of the year. I can't imagine going through another one later this month or potentially next month. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Hope y'all Floridians fared well. The eye missed Tampa/St Pete, but still has caused plenty of damage in those areas and plenty of water along the coast down to at least Ft Myers.

The tornadoes were a surprise, and some lives were lost. The Port St Lucie police station (I think) had a parking structure destroyed by a tornado. Images around the net somewhere.
