Just wanted to add my enthusiasm for these Husky bolt-ons...I run my MAV through the local car wash at least 2X a week with no problems.

Since we're talking deflectors maybe I just blew $16 or maybe it works as advertised. It's a rubber strip that goes on the edge of the hood at the windshield. The curve is supposed to guide the air flow over the window rather than into the window reducing bug splatter. It's not visible from inside the cab. Up to 2 weeks to receive which is a little disappointing but I'll let everyone know what I think when I get it. It slips on and stays on without tape.

I ended up getting the Husky. I didn't want to tape anything to the hood. This connects to 4 holes where the rubber tube is. I took the rubber off to install the deflector easier then put it back on. The install instructions did leave off 1 important part. Never ever drop anything into the engine bay. You aren't getting it back. I called the number today and they're going to send me another fastener. I like that the black matches the front fascia better than those that are smoke. It also extends farther out to the sides.

Contributing my own close up photos. I’ll also note that we got a bunch of pine straw from the trees shortly after these were taken, but any that got under the deflector were quickly removed during a short drive.

On a side note...I was showing my truck to a friend that works at Home Depot...and, he noticed the "Husky" branding on the deflector....he was sort of confused because the Husky brand is trademarked to The Home Depot....?????????

Ive had those on my vehicles before.... 2 things, the screws (if used) and mounting surface after a period of time rust. 2nd. Leaves, bugs, snow and dirt can collect between the deflector and the hood surface.

Love the taped down AVS version. So far on 2 different vehicles over 13yrs havent had any trapped debri or rust.
Does it actually deflect anything at the right speed, since it's the exact same shape as the hood?

Or more of a paint protector?

I'll be curious about that ability.

Before you attach it in the intended spot - curious if it appears it could go into the gap at the top of the windshield and actually stay decently tight, despite not attaching to anything?

I'd like that edge guard effect for protection from ice scraping, so against the paint.
So if it disappears totally in the gap, no good. If it sticks up too high and is loose so wind could grap it, no good.

Appreciate the peek if you remember, it appears long enough to go across the whole top.

It's going to be a while before I get it. It has just today left the carrier facility in Guangzhou China.

Mostly paint.... On both my F250 and Maverick never get any rock hits (of course) on the hood nose. The Aeroskin for my F250 has a raised lip on the windshield side that somewhat diverts debri, but the Maverick Aeroskin does not. Neither vehicle has received any winshield chips from stones - but that could be pure luck... However, my F250 got a chip by a bouncing small stone on the center area of the hood which are hard to avoid with any deflector or protector IMO.
