What’s the 156/1169? 156 the Julian day?
That is the Batch number typically. His was 156 out if 1169 built that week or something like that...not all that important really. Probably matters to the production line folks.

In further evidence my truck is built, it popped up on my dealer's website. VIN matches. Definitely explains some of what I have seen on their page versus what is on their lot as the truck hasn't even shipped yet.

I just spent a week doing summer camp with the Boy Scouts (whole reason I needed the truck) so I wasn't able to obsess over its status but it does appear to be built and awaiting shipment. That said, having the loaner F-150 was convenient. So, if there was any consequence to my impatience and buying the Explorer as well as Ford's slow recall process, I can at least say that.

At this point, I'm indifferent as to which one I keep. Once the Maverick comes in, I'll test drive it and see what the dealership can do on the offer depending on my Explorer status at that time. But I'm not going to emotionally married to it if it doesn't work.

Given the Maverick popped on my dealership's website just today and already has over a half-dozen views, I suspect it won't sit on the lot long either way.
Definitely do the best for you.

The dealership, however, is certainly going to want the Maverick MUCH more than they want the Explorer back.

Obviously. That said, they are currently sitting on two Mavericks (both EB). So, maybe the market has cooled a little. They really want the Explorer fixed as mine is not the only one taking up space on their lot.

I had a loaner Explorer XLT 2.3 a few weeks ago when my Mav was being serviced. I liked it better than a brand-new F150 XL 2.7 loaner I had just after that. (It was a 2 part service, hood replaced.) F150 is just huge. Didn't fit in my garage as-is, but I could rearrange if I bought one. Hard to park due to length and the oddly tall yet short hood..

I think there's a lot of differences between an Explorer and Maverick and your Maverick build is pretty much identical to mine and I wouldn't trade it for an Explorer, but I also only have a family of 3 and the 1 kid is 16 and driving so my rear seat gets used a bit less these days. A family of 4 I'd be much more interested in an Explorer, 5+ and I'm out of the Maverick game for sure. 🤣

Yeah, that's the hang-up I'm having. My 13-year-old is 6'1" already. Doesn't bode well. Explorer may simply be more comfortable for him.

Yikes! Yeah, I have to say the Maverick back seat is a little tighter than I expected. I'm 5'11" and I would not want to sit behind myself.

That's a big boy!

My 16 year-old is 6'3" and might be done, although I did grow after 16 but I'm only 6'0". At any rate he sits behind my 5'5" wife no problem, but sitting behind me is a little uncomfortable on long trips so he doesn't do it. If there's a 4th passenger they get to sit behind me.

Explorer most definitely has much more room in the middle row. Not even comparable to a Maverick.

Seems they are done whittling the tires out of a piece of wheat...

Eh. I was 6'3" as a teenager, and my parents just told me to get my ass in the back of that Saturn SL2 and deal with it. 😆
