It was stated earlier this year by March end, ford would have available a update on the software causing battery drain, etc. Obviously it didnt happen. Does anyone on this forum know the status of this. Will it ever happen? My dealer could not fix the interior light syndrom, so I created a case number with Ford to proceed further. They stated to use the assigned case number and get a second opinion. I have pushed for a new AGM battery but everyone says nothing wrong with my current battery. Here I sit......in the dark. comments!!!!

Here's the link to discussion on the "fix" they released.

https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...attery-drain-issue-update-fix-released.67045/

My local dealer was happy to charge me $200 to run the update. Not sure if it helped-- I gave in and bought my own AGM so the truck wouldn't leave me stranded again.
Yeah, it will. Its just going to take a bit longer for an AGM battery to sulfate than the EFL one. The underlying BMS software error is not fixed and your AGM never charges to more than 80%, killing it the same way.

This is what I did, and it is definitely better now than it was. Charge the battery 100% with a battery tender charger. If you don't have one buy one. I use mine on a regular basis before I had the Maverick. After 100% charging reset the BMS AND lock the Maverick overnight for at least 8 hours. I am not in the dark for long. When the dome lights don't come on, I spend a few minutes hooking up the charger sometime that day and its good for about 10 days. Like you, the dealer, and a private shop that sells batteries have tested my battery and they said it is just fine. My battery tender shows it is good. It charges right up, which is a sign it is a good battery. The battery is NOT the problem. I also recommend you buy a Pulsetech Powerpulse battery desulfator/conditioner. $40. I have one on my Transit and the original 2 batteries are almost 11 years old and continue to test A OK. I got one on the Maverick too. Hope this helps you like it helped me. ✌ Amazon.com: Pulsetech PowerPulse Battery Maintenance System : Automotive

No, they didn't claim that. Intermittent battery drain - yes.
Rumor off an SSM that was given. Which did have a resolution given.
May not be the fix for all of the rare occurences of an intermittent battery drain.

Sounds like you have been starting truck and driving to dealer?
Not a drained battery!
Unless you can find what others haven't.

From what I have read in other posts, changing the setting for battery management with forscan did not make a difference in there testing.

I changed mine to 99% SOC and flooded battery.
I don't know if it made a difference or not.
But charging at 14.4 to 15.1 all the time.
If the battery is not charged fully in a short time frame to push in the energy drawn out when sitting, it will die soon no matter what battery you have.

So does it really help this Pulsetech thing? If I understand you still need to charge the Mav battery every ten days?

I myself had the service bulletin done in this past august and they also replaced battery with another lead battery and reset BMS. . Dome light has been working since and have digital voltmeter on cig lighter socket to see were voltage is after shut down,.

The Pulsetech PowerPulse is NOT a charger. It prevents sulfation buildup. If your battery is in a constant state of low voltage sulfation will ruin it. Any lead acid battery. Regardless of quality. Including AGM's. ✌
