Blue Ox has completed the base plate and it looks great. The base plate will be ready in 6- 8 weeks.
I appreciate all of the work, effort and testing that went into the process. I strongly recommend Blue Ox .
I also purchased the Hybrid to tow behind a RV. Now I need the RV to get delivered.

Glad Blue Ox is doing it. I talked with them for a bit but considered the 10 hour drive, no RV parks open near them and thus a week of hotel room cost waiting on them to fabricate the baseplate I thought I could just wait for one to come out in a month or so. Not to mention the nasty weather. Thanks for being a Guinea pig. Pics of your set up? Aux braking system?

I was lucky. I stayed with a cousin about 35 miles away. Weather was cold but clear the week I was there.

Here are the pictures. Let me know if another angle is needed. I have an XLT. It also works with XL and Lariat but the Ford tow kit may have to be removed.

I did pick up the Patriot three braking system, the 7 pin wiring was also installed and some additional items. All I need are the break away cables.

Talked with Roadmaster today tech support and sales. I have Adaptive Cruise Control and they stated the baseplate is for non ACC Mavericks. I went ahead and ordered, ( not shipping yet) It may be a few more weeks before they start shipping. Neither of their prototypes were equipped with ACC thus the restriction.

I have studied the Roadmaster installation instructions, measured and ran my endoscope behind the grill. I am convinced there will be no interference between the ACC and the baseplate.

The biggest difference I see between the Roadmaster and Blue Ox baseplates besides the Blue Ox cuts out the tow hook covers. The Roadmaster removes the shutter system and the Blue Ox does not. That is what I can tell from the pictures and instructions I could be in error on that. I feel the Roadmaster is a less invasive install and easier to put back to OEM.

Today I installed the Demco Stay and Play auxiliary braking system in the Mav. One of the easiest ones I have done. I lack the 6 pin and breakaway switch. They are rolled up and secured in the engine compartment await the baseplate.

The Roadmaster instructions show a trimming of the active shutters (just the area in yellow), not a full delete.

I could be wrong but it looks as if your shutters are gone on your truck. I never saw in the instructions where the shutters are replaced after the removal.

Specific about trimmiming the reinstalling the auto dam. You can see in Fig. U the active shutters are reinstalled. Honestly as crude as the Blue Ox install looks, I would never do that to my truck. Interesting to see both released so close together that one didn’t have time to view the other,

Agreed the air dam is cut and replaced. I honestly don’t see the shutters. I really really hope I am wrong. But I’m not.

Mine is an XLT unlike your Lariat Lux so I had a friend without a tow bar installation or any other mods send me a pic of their XLT. It looks just mine after installation. Honestly, it made me feel better.
