Best Forscan scanner?

is this still the only option? kind of a bummer as my portable computers are all android/chrome OS.

I ordered a cheap small flippable dell laptop with a touch screen and I just flip it and use it like a tablet. Pretty much anything with Windows will run Forscan. Even a Mac with windows will run it fine. There is the Forscan lite app but it does not let you do coding changes.

My understanding is that a USB scanner setup with Windows OS is the best option. I think there are Bluetooth scanner options for Android, but they are less capable.

The best scanner that you could ever get is this one. It works great, I've had mine for around 3 years and only had an issue with it once which got fixed within the hour. note that they have a Wine compile of the windows version, which should run on pretty much any linux, and I think any bad, too. this would avoid needing. a windows license. Probably on an x86 Mac (but not the last couple of years since apple went arm, M1-M4)

Wine's site rates functionality as gold.

I’ve been using one of these diesel laptop kits and it actually comes with Forscan + Ford IDS, so it works great on all Ford models (Maverick, F-series, etc.):
