Podcast Addict and, more importantly --> Weather & Radar ... gives you satellite and radar for where you are and follow you (& free). Definitely agree also with the VRradio app recommendation. Ps - the Weather & Radar app I use is this one

Was about to change over to this, but it's subscribtion based if you want the ads removed. They can hug a root! I don't mind paying 10-20 for an APP, but subscriptions are a hard no. Adobe pulled that crap and I went over to Affinity.

How's the algorithm for Pulsar.
I have no idea. But it plays everything I've thrown at it and sounds as good as it can, above road noise and crappy OEM speakers. I don't always use AA, but with bluetooth, the phone is paired and auto-playing music through Pulsar on shuffle by the time I can "OK" all the nag screens, back out of the garage and drive away.

It also always quick-connects and starts auto-play, using my wired AA connection.

I also use an Android App called Radio Recorder to record my favorite Internet Radio stations to my phone's SD card for later use. I record huge MP3s of my favorite radio stations that last many hours in single MP3 files. Works great for road trips when you just don't want to mess with fumbling around changing music. I have some pre recorded radio shows that are over eight hours long in a single file!

I looked on the Play Store for this and didn't see anything. Do you have a link or something for it?

I had to look up what "Hug a root" meant. 😅

Also, a tip for all Android users. If u download apps outside the Play Store and are concerned about their safety, make sure to check them out with Virus Total Mobile app, which IS available for free on Google Play Store.

Just for giggles I typed this into MyTuner. There's a KELY 1230 AM and a KELY Almavision 98.7 FM. Not sure if either are "your" K-ELY.
Sadly they shut down the eclectic station of Ely Mn. Serving the Iron range and could be picked up in the Boundary Waters wilderness

I'm sure they do. VirusTotal scans apps against fifty of the top AV scanning engines at once. It can scan before running downloaded apps, allowing the user to delete questionable apps. From the description:

"Virustotal Mobile checks the applications installed in your Android phone against virustotal (http://www.virustotal.com). It will inform you about malware (virus, trojans, worms) on your phone and allows you to upload any unknown applications to Virustotal. In other words, Virustotal for Android will get your applications scanned by more than 50 antivirus, flagging any undesired content."

It's a great scanning app.

Now I have 3 players.. PowerAmp Pro, AIMP, and Pulsar+.
- PowerAmp has the best features, but algorithm could be better. Repeats songs, plays more of one artist, and doesn't play a lot of the 1500+ songs I have on my phone. Also doesn't have normalization.
- AIMP (is free)is close to PowerAmp, the built in EQ could be improved. Able to use PowerAmp Equalizer App with AIMP which is a plus. Has stats so you can see what songs have been played and how many times. Same algorithm issues as the PowerAmp.
- Pulsar+ used it for a very short time, so far it hasn't repeated any songs, but has randomly played song off the same album. The EQ suck and PowerAmp EQ App can't be used, which is a negative.

Poweramp Pro for personal music, VRadio and MyTuner Radio for Internet radio stations (even hometown stations when travelling), Waze and Sygic for Navi, Weather & Radar Pro for live weather and satellite radar, Scanner Radio for emergency and police scanners by location, Fermata Auto for video including YouTube and even IPTV (when not driving of course!).

KingInstaller is not an Android Auto app per se, but it can install some (not all by any means) non Google Play Store AA apps so they can be recognized by AA and seen in the AA menu. Pretty cool.

I'll probably think of a few others later...

Hey... i can't get video from ANY videos on my phone (using FERMATA)? Just audio? Anybody else? Did the video work for you? If so, what might I be doing wrong?

Make sure you've installed Fermata AUTO, not the Fermata Media app. I use KingInstaller just to be sure it installs correctly. When it installs properly, you will see the Fermata Auto suite installed in Android Auto, which includes Fermata Auto, Fermata Control, Fermata Media Service, Fermata FS Mirror and Fermata Mirror. It'll look something like this inside AA:

I just can't get into Waze, I live in a major city and it often wants to zigzag me through a ton of surface streets to get around traffic, often landing me at a 2 way stop sign where I'm supposed to make a left turn onto a clogged up major street. Whish is impossible. It also seems very cluttered. I don't need to see ads for Jack in the box and where other Wazers are. Google maps often takes me on routes with really questionable sections. Like taking a big clockwise loop around a city park to get to a parking lot that I just could have gone one more block and gotten to. There are no restrictions to make Google make me go the shorter way, but it continually does it for no reason. I find Google Maps also sucks on highway interchanges. It will wait to the very last minute to actually tell me which freeway to take in interchanges where there are 2 or 3 options. I finally downloaded Tom Tom and have been pretty happy with that. It's not free, but I like it and works well on Android Auto.

Check out Here We Go, it's also a good Navi app for AA. It has good voice guidance. You can download maps for offline use, and if u use mobile data you'll have the option to bring up the nice 3D satellite maps! 👍
