How/Can you turn off apps(Android Auto)

XL trim, not sure if it matters or not. When I plug in AA to run Google maps, it also opens one of my phones radio apps. But doesn't let me listen to my local radio I've had on. I cannot figure out how to turn the phone radio app off, but keep maps open. Or can I not have one and the other? Thanks.

You can select which apps show up in the infotainment center, when using AA. It's in settings. You can even drag drop to rearrange the order of the ones you do want to use.

Thanks! Still learning I just want to listen to my local terrestrial radio unless I'm traveling. I don't remember adding the phone radio app to my maverick though.

In addition to what Ozarkbeard said, there's a setting in Android Auto where you can deselect "Start Music Automatically". Once deselected it won't open media on your phone on its own.

Also check auto-play settings in each individual app. Some may be specifically configured to auto-play when connected to the vehicle, and may override other settings.
