Would an extension like this help, so your release is not behind the seat?Yes, that is the anchor I am referring to. Both carseats that we have for our carpet crawlers have a button to loosen the tether strap, but it is hidden behind the seatback so that when you tighten the tether to it proper tension you can hardly slide a pencil between the rear bulkhead and the seat back let alone a finger or two. That being said, thanks for the reply and the feedback.
I appreciate you
Maybe this has come up before and I haven't seen it. Are there any GPops out there that find the carseat brackets simply ridiculous. I find that once you cinch a carseat down using the bracket behind the rear seat back, it is virtually impossible to unhook it because you cannot release the seat back. Any reasonable advice would be welcomed. Otherwise I have found that i love my 2025 hybrid and it will do anything I could think to ask of it. Oh and averaging 40 mpg is pretty great too!
I'm 69, still young! 2025 Maverick owner. I think he's talking about the anchors at the bottom. They are down in the seat and hard to clip on an off if your strap has just the hook. I have one car seat that has a red button on the clip, it slides right off . Maybe contact seat manufacture see if they have the belt with the push button.I'll offer a suggestion because you and I are probably the only MTC members old enough to have grandchildren. It seems most Maverick owners are young punks with blacked-out taillights for their trucks and lowered suspensions.
I assume you mean the tether anchor near the headrests, not the LATCH lower anchors which are accessible without moving the seatback. Does your carseat not have a button that allows you to loosen the tether strap enough to tilt the truck's seatback a few inches forward? What manufacturer/model carseat have you?
My Maverick owner's manual says: "Contact the manufacturer of your child restraint for information about ordering a tether strap, or to obtain a longer tether strap if the tether strap on your child restraint does not reach the appropriate top tether anchor in your vehicle."

There was just an age poll on this site recently....majority of maverick owners are boomers. I'm 65.I'll offer a suggestion because you and I are probably the only MTC members old enough to have grandchildren. Apologies if I'm not completely understanding, but what if you purchased two tether extensions and just left them attached to the back of the seat. Then you could easily connect/unconnect from the extended tether's other end. No?Good suggestion as well. The problem is that the release is too close the hook so unhooking is the issue. I can hook it on OK. Just cannot release the tension on the tether to move the seat back to unhook it. We frequently need to move the seats from my Maverick to my wifes Kia. Thank you for the suggestion though.
As a medical provider, I do my best to use the safety equipment as designed. Risk management is up to the user of the equipment. I wouldn't think any less of you for going that route, but elevation and patience work for me.Apologies if I'm not completely understanding, but what if you purchased two tether extensions and just left them attached to the back of the seat. I agree, but according to the OP, the car seat manufacturer offers extended tethers.. Surely, that would be within the safety design of their product. As a medical provider, I do my best to use the safety equipment as designed. Risk management is up to the user of the equipment. Apparently you have not seen the latest survey on MTC. 70 percent of us areI'll offer a suggestion because you and I are probably the only MTC members old enough to have grandchildren.
