I just watched an install video (the guy had pulled them off of his Lux package before selling it to put on the replacement non-Lux). The top front (i.e. closest to the cabin) tiedowns are removed to make space. And there are 3 weld-nutted holes of which only 2 are used for this sliding. Given the short size of the bed, I wonder if just mounting 3 eye bolts on each side (held in place using a jam nut) would provide comparable flexibility at a lower profile. No, the eye bolts wouldn't slide for custom positioning, but you have more on each side. No, that wouldn't look as nifty as the Ford Accessory, but the parts can procured for around 1/10th the cost (depending on the eyebolt).I just looked it up. But only $36 for installation![]()
I've read where people with an XL make their own tie downs to make up for not having the bed rails. I guess it's going to depend on how much Ford is going to give on a POI just watched an install video (the guy had pulled them off of his Lux package before selling it to put on the replacement non-Lux). Remember the lux package on the XLT drops from $2500 on the '21 to $1730 on the '22 so you have a $770 difference. With the current 20% off the rail system is $320 and drop in bed liner is $332. The remote start cost $170 as an add-on. So 320+332+170=$822 vs the $770 of them included on the '21.Thank you for finding it. Might have to think twice about that for $400.

The rail should be an easy bolt on install.
I don't care about the remote start but wanted the rail system bad enough to order it early when I saw the link in the other post. Ford routinely has 10 or 20 percent discounts available on the accessories site.
Not surprised that people are DIYing it, especially with Ford giving this DIY idea (among others) out for free:I've read where people with an XL make their own tie downs to make up for not having the bed rails. I guess it's going to depend on how much Ford is going to give on a PO
Do you hear these loops flopping around as you drive over bumps?I decided to use LOOPS with different bolts that are compatible with Maverick's bed predrilled holes. Did not want the rails that stuck out so far, taking up space. These loops from Amazon were something like $16.00 with bolts and are out of the way flat when not needed and one in each predrilled hole
Defiantly not. Been on for 8 months and they are like hinged when opening and closing them. Have to even give loops a little pressure to raise and lower...and stay where ever you leave them which is handy when attaching ratchet strap hooks.... very well made. Powder coated so no rusting! Not surprised that people are DIYing it, especially with Ford giving this DIY idea (among others) out for free:

If going with just the eyebolts, these are (pricy 'cause McMaster) options from McMaster:

They even have nylon coated. Thread them in until they seat and torque (for random orientation), or use a jam nut (probably best with a fender washer) to set the rotational orientation and then tighten the jam nut.

Nice. I did a little digging and among the many similar options, I found the ones you use (based on comparing the pictures):Defiantly not. Sorry it was January when I put these on, but I had to dig up the rail list of material to get the right bolt size to fit the pre-drilled holes. Pretty sure I picked up the bolts at Lowes. I really like these ”rings” since they sort of match the other rings in the bed and are very strong…also the pre drilled holes covers probably an extra 1 & 1/2 feet in length versus the rack length.Nice. JCHL Cargo Tie-Down Anchors, 10PCS V-Ring 2" Diameter Steel V-Ring Bolt On Trailer Anchor for Cargo on Trucks Pickups Trailers Flush Mount TieDown Anchor
For others, they aren't called D-Rings, rather because of the pointed shape of the ring they appear to be called "V-Rings". Looks like a possible option to add to the tailgate either in addition to or as a replacement for the "bottle opener" tiedowns. Especially if one puts the soft-open shock on the driver side.
I removed mine from my order as I didn't want any future constraints. I figured I'd add unistrut or some other aftermarket if I really wanted something there.I ordered in Oct. 2021 for a 22 XLT with lux package. I received a vin but I'm now getting rolled over to a 23. For those that have received their truck and have the bed rail system is it worth it. The 23 Lux package does come with it but I believe it can be added by the dealer. Thoughts please.
