Tailgate not flush with rear. Gap normal?

you could try adjusting the striker by loosening that one bolt and see if you can move the striker to the rear...maybe.

It's all perspective. The F-series trucks from the 70's and 80's had way bigger gaps. On the farm we would stuff a burlap bag or 3 in there when hauling small grain to close the gaps. That was when the trucks were new. As they aged, just add more burlap.

Should this be flush or is this small gap normal?

Mine is flush. I don't know if it can be fixed. Most likely this is happening because they are assembling the Mavericks too quickly due to the high demand. When you have so many orders to fill, most likely some irregularities will be overlooked by those in charge.
