I like the idea of the heavy duty carpet in the bed, but I see the offerings dont seem to include the sides as well. Does anyone know of an option to carpet the full bed?

For my use that might be best.

You are right. The full BedRug is not yet available for the Mav and I'm not sure if it ever will. FWIW I ordered my Mav with DIBL and am planning to get the BedRug mat. I just hope it fits. I had the full BedRug in my old Ram and it was great. Highly recommend it.

I wonder if an after market shop might be able to just cut up something custom. Guess I can ask around.

AFAIK the BedRug is just polypropylene carpet on top of some molded foam. I would think that an upholstery shop can make it for you if they/you can source the materials. A shop specializing in convertible soft tops might be the place. Happy hunting.

I will have to do my homework. I haven't yet committed to the spray in from the dealer.

I customized a couple van interiors with shag and vinyl. I assume you are wanting a soft cushy bed. Not sure why, but why not lol. Anyway anything you do for the sides is going to be kinda hard to keep up in place due to the concave nature of bedsides. I would cut plywood and install it to fit as paneling using the the factory prethreaded holes in the bed. Then take it back out and carpet it to whatever amount of soft cushy level you like. You can just use a regular staple gun to secure the material to the back side of the panel. You also get super DIY bonus points if you use the deepest concave areas to make panels in your panels for little storage cubbies.

Hope this helps, I was never taught how to do it specifically it was just a look at pictures of what other did and try to replicate process. Really the only tools you need are a cheap jigsaw, sandpaperor wood scraper(for edges), and a staple gun. Materials and tools for the size of the bed sides shouldnt cost you $200 maybe $300 if you get fancy with it.

Yea, it's just to protect the bed and keep stuff from sliding. I don't want scratches is all if I toss something back there. I may take my ariens snow blower in for service, haul my custom lawn care equipment around, etc. But mostly just groceries and stuff hehe
