I grew up near the beach, had all the beach adventures. Face to face with a Barracuda in murky water, being in the water meant no one could tell I pissed myself.
I covered my shiny dive watch with my other hand and slowly backed away.

Hand fed many pelicans.

Picked up an RC cola bottle with a hole in its side. It was completely full with an Octopus !

The thing slithered out onto my forearm and Inked me, way cool.
A guy on the shore yelled out, “I’ll give ya fifty bucks for it.” I took the money honey !!
He had a saltwater aquarium.

Getting the wind knocked out of you while your eight feet deep under the breakers was a trip. I did not know sharks were that fast or that powerful.
I’ll never forget that.

Traded it all for Appalachia. The beach is fun but the mountains called me home. I’ll finish my days with the Bear, Deer, Coyote and the Ghost in the woods, the Bobcat.

Stomped all over Terra I did.

My plan is to have the best stories when I get to the nursing home.

Wondering if you're a hunter

Nope, I don't fish either.
I understand and don't have a problem with hunting and fishing if used for food. I don't have much use for trophy hunters.
Don't get me wrong, if I'm at the beach and there's some pristine water. I'm not sitting on the sand next to my wife who's reading a book. I'm going to be in the water snorkeling or shallow surface supplied air diving.
Edit. I just sold my Mossberg 30-06. I still have a Winchester .308. As I've gotten old, I don't enjoy shooting them. My AR is a bit easier on my shoulder. It's funny I have a 12 ga. semi automatic bullpup for HD that I don't mind shooting. Go figure.

If the Zombie Apocalypse starts I’d rather be with the sharp shooters up here than with the condo people that don’t know how to drink dirty bathtub water with a dead body in it.
