Actually this recall is for EcoBoosts that have EFB (technically no AGM). Most of MY22 and perhaps some MY23 are affected. It is getting more difficult to track all these recalls and which Mavs are affected.

My truck was built in June of 2024 and I think it has an AGM battery, so are they now putting them in all Mavericks? I haven't had a deep sleep issue yet, but it's been only six months. And I usually drive it 4-5 days a week.
Most MY 23, all MY 24 and 25 EcoBoosts have the AGM battery.

i have upped my drive to 20 miles each and EVERY time i start the truck to keep her starting everytime i need it. i also leave daytime running lights off, double lock the door at exit, keep key in faraday pouch. If i need to unload a trip to the grocery store i leave the truck running until i have finished unloading, turn off the radio before exiting and try hard not to run the heat for the last 10miles. Never let it sit more than 1 day un used. I am probably just fooling myself but i want it to start when i need it and havent lost interior lights since last issue beginning of December and its been in Single digits this week. (hope i havent jinxed myself)

Do you know if they replaced them with the factory flooded battery or a different AGM battery? Also how long time-wise do you drive when you do drive them? Those of us still getting the error and waiting on Ford's fix this year tend to drive less than 15 minute drives and it depletes the 12v over time. I might break down and go to the dealer if this is the fix we have been waiting for.
The length of time I drive varies. I had errands to run from one side of town to the other when I started to get the messages after each stop. Before that, it was occasionally. Then it became more frequent. My wife just drives her Escape to and from work (4 Miles) and runs occasional errands. She got the messages about the same time I did. I don’t know what batteries they used in either vehicle, but it was covered under the 36/3 yr warranty.

This recall affected my Maverick - vehicle just stopped in the middle of the road and wouldn't move and the only way to make it move was to turn off Autostop and put in reverse and back up and then put it back in drive and the Mav was able to move out of the road.
I took the Mav into a Ford dealer for service and they replaced the battery with a new Ford battery.
I was lucky that no one rear-ended me when the vehicle just stopped while driving.

Ford recalls more than 270,000 Broncos, Mavericks for potential battery failure

According to a notice first reported to NHTSA on Friday, the recall covers 272,817 Bronco and Maverick vehicles that contain 12-volt batteries manufactured by Chinese company Camel Battery.
Hmm . Makes me at least more comfortable with all the massive navy ships they are building.
They way they are going only half of them will make it to any destination. Lol

I know it’s too new to tell but my 2024 Eco AWD Lariat
sat two weeks in way below freezing temps, single digits at night.
The Ford Phone app started it just fine.
Will the battery say on top if it’s AGM ?
No recalls listed.

While '23s are listed as being affected, they technically aren't. The notice to dealers outlines the affected build dates of the 23MY units as June 20, 2022 through August 29, 2022. 23MY retail production didn't start until mid-November so those were all manufacturer-intended vehicles (probably a lot of demo Tremors).

Because it's for a very specific fault of the Camel manufactured batteries having internal inter-cell connections that fail.

Ford appears to have realized the EFB batteries were failing internally so quietly switched to AGMs through 22MY. Ford tried to detect the failing EFBs with the updated BMS of recall 24V267 (even though that identified that the EFB batteries were basically at fault). Some of the affected vehicles were not tagged/erroneously closed out so there was follow-up recall 24V590. NHTSA then had reports of vehicles that had received the updated BMS still failing mid-drive so filed a query with Ford (informally 9/24, formally 11/24). Ford determined that "Prior software released as part of FSA 24S24 is unable to detect certain electrical signatures present on failed batteries and/or failed to disable stop/start functionality quickly enough." (basically the software fix didn't work) so now they're proactively replacing them.
Is the fix going to be actually replacing the battery? I fail to understand how they can test for something that may happen in the future.

Yes, any with a flooded battery are going to be replaced with an AGM, even the Clarios-manufactured units which Ford says didn't exhibit the same categorical failures.

Presumably they were hoping that the batteries might display some detectable irregularity in charging amperage accepted indicating high resistance of the failing welds/connections, but in practice it was indiscernible or they just failed suddenly.

Well late build 22 Ecoboost. Mines on the list. Only the second recall for me. Don't understand why they say there is no remedy.

Jan 17,2025
Manufacturer Recall Number25S02
NHTSA Recall Number25V019
Recall StatusRecall Incomplete, remedy not yet available
SummaryON YOUR VEHICLE, THE 12-VOLT BATTERY MAY EXPERIENCE INTERNAL WELD AND OR CAST-ON-STRAP FAILURES, WHICH COULD LEAD TO A SUDDEN BATTERY DEGRADATION WHILE DRIVING.

Safety RiskIF THE BATTERY SUDDENLY DEGRADES DURING A DRIVE, YOUR VEHICLE MAY BE UNABLE TO RESTART AFTER AN AUTO STOPSTART EVENT OR EXPERIENCE A STALL WHILE COMING TO A STOP AT LOW SPEED. EITHER OF THESE CONDITIONS MAY BE ACCOMPANIED BY A LOSS OF ELECTRICAL ACCESSORIES, INCLUDING HAZARD LIGHTS. A LOSS OF MOTIVE POWER CAN INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH. WHEN THE REMEDY IS AVAILABLE, FORD MOTOR COMPANY WILL SEND A LETTER TO INFORM YOU TO CONTACT YOUR DEALER TO SCHEDULE A REPAIR. FORD HAS NOT ISSUED INSTRUCTIONS TO STOP DRIVING YOUR VEHICLE UNDER THIS SAFETY RECALL. WHEN THE REMEDY IS AVAILABLE, YOU SHOULD CONTACT YOUR DEALER FOR AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE YOUR VEHICLE REMEDIED AS SOON AS PRACTICABLE.

RemedyPARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. FORD MOTOR COMPANY IS WORKING TO PROVIDE PARTS FOR THIS REPAIR. WHEN THE REMEDY BECOMES AVAILABLE, FORD MOTOR COMPANY WILL NOTIFY YOU VIA MAIL TO SCHEDULE A SERVICE APPOINTMENT WITH YOUR DEALER FOR REPAIRS TO BE COMPLETED FREE OF CHARGE. THE REMEDY IS ANTICIPATED TO BE AVAILABLE Q2 2025.

Manufacturer's NotesTO CHECK FOR NON-SAFETY-RELATED PROGRAMS APPLICABLE TO YOUR VEHICLE, SEE HTTP://WWW.FORD.COM/ OR CALL YOUR FORD DEALER.

If the manufacturer has failed or is unable to remedy this safety recall for your vehicle in a timely manner, please contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at: 1-888-327-4236 or TTY: 1-800-424-9153 or file an online complaint with NHTSA.
The "remedy" is replacing the batteries in the affected vehicles. There are 220,000+ vehicles affected. Ford doesn't have that many batteries hanging around to send out to dealers. They won't evidently until Quart 2 of this year. So affected drivers are driving a car that "may" simply stall in the freeway with a battery that is deader than dead.
