First trip out towing the Mav with stay in play brake, received a message that battery was low?? When we arrived after about 2 1/2 hours it started ok. Thinking about installing a battery charge line while towing. Any advice and thanks in advance

Many RV's that have a 7 pin round connection will have a "battery charge" line as one of the circuits. I simply opened my 6 pin round connector on front of the Maverick and run a 14 gauge wire from the corresponding "battery charge" terminal to the jump post under the hood of the Maverick. I did use a diode inline as many "kits" sold use diodes. But....I am not sure that is required. Did NOT use a diode on my Cmax when flat towing it.
Anyway, your accessory port/cigarette light receptacle turns off after a while. That is why your brake system says battery low. Flat towing the Ford hybrids requires a battery charge wire as there IS a drain on the system over time. While you can tickle the 12v battery with a jump box and it takes right off, that is a hassle eliminated by a charge wire. Once installed, there is NO maintenance and no low battery issue.

I decided that a charger would be better and had a RVI charger installed under the hood using the RVs charge line. So far working well.

What ground and 12V points under the hood did you use for the RVi Battery Charger? I need to install my battery charger and Wireless Breakaway switch in my 2024 Lariat.

Help...How did you attached the 14 gage wire to the "jump post" under the hood? I've tried 5/16 18 nut, M8 1.25, and neither one fits. Starts to thread then tighten's up.

How did you connect the charge wire to the jump post under the hood.

Simple. I removed about an inch of insulation on the wire, doubled the wire, bent it to a 90 degree angle, then used a very small hose clamp to hold it against the jump post.
