My 22 Hybrid XLT had the deep sleep mode issue come on and my Maverick ended up eventually dead and needed jumped to start.
Took my truck to the Ford Dealer and they replaced the 12V under seat battery and it seems to have fixed it. Truck had under 500 miles.

My dads 2023 Maverick XLT
Hybrid around 3k miles had the same exact symptoms. Deep sleep mode and eventually a dead truck that we had to Jump start.
Took it to the Ford Dealer and they replaced the battery (saying bad cell) and flashed the BCM I believe is what they said.
His truck seems to be fixed.

Does the EB share the same battery as the Hybrid? Are you EB guys/gals having your 12V battery turn out to be bad from the factory?
What are the odds that’s we both had bad under seat 12V batteries on 2 different year mavericks?
Seems super odd tbh. I’ve not seen car batteries go bad like this in my lifetime. Especially on a brand new vehicle.
Makes me wonder and hope that it’s not more than a bad battery.
Could there be something going on that could ruin a battery going on with the truck or a design flaw?
Or is it more likely that the batteries were bad from the factory?

When we first were dealing with the same problem on our 2022 Maverick hybrid the dealership replaced the battery. After a few weeks the problem resurfaced. After leaving the truck with them a couple of weeks the second time (we were out of town so it wasn't an inconvenience) and them updating me constantly on their conversations with Ford corporate engineers, those engineers told them to replace the battery again. I was leery that anything would change. That was five months ago and haven't had a problem since. I believe Ford received a large number of defective batteries from their supplier and until those bad batteries are out of the system completely, the problem will continue to surface for some owners.

Sounds like you’re right. A bad batch of batteries and they ended up in our Maverick’s

Unfortunately that is the way many businesses, and oftentimes our various levels of government, are run.

My 12 volt battery is giving me troubles. I have needed to jump start it three times and now the dealer has it. I have close to 26,000 km and I hope they figure this out and replace the battery as well. They have a part coming so I will update everyone when I get the truck back.

Did your battery issues ever come back? I have had my ‘23 XLT Hybrid at the dealership 5 times for dead batteries. They performed SSM 51598 and replaced my battery with a brand new OEM battery, but my issues still keep coming back.

Aside from the poorly wired connecting cable, his seems to be the most logical explanation for the dead truck syndrome that has been plaguing a lot of Mavericks.

I have a EB, have had this issue on and off , recently had the message again performed a battery reset twice, issue has disappeared without charging the battery Issue seems to be in the BMS .

The Ford battery that was originally working well that I referenced started to go bad after about six months. I gave up on them replacing it with another crappy Motorcraft battery so I bought a Diehard Gold battery and installed it myself. Haven't had an issue in a few months now and everything works like a real truck should. Hope it stays that way for at least the normal useful life that a battery should last.

I didn't see that anyone answered this.

no, the ecoboost battery is significantly larger, 700CCA H6 size vs 470CCA 99 size in the hybrid.

that is my experience as well. I was getting deep sleep messages but the battery was testing relatively strong, 11.8V cold and 14.2 - 15.2V when the engine was running. I reset the Battery Monitoring System, which is extremely easy to do, and no problems in the past 6-8 months.

It's not the battery itself, but shorts within the wiring harness of the vehicle causing a parasitic drain.

If there is one poor solder connection near the ECM fuse under the hood which ford issued a TSB for, you can bet there are plenty of other areas on the car with a bad solder connection which may or may not be causing issues and parasitic drains yet and WILL get worse over time.

Ford has no interest in researching it or fixing it and this will probably go down as one of the top 10 epic failures on vehicles.
