Mine works but I have to really slam it. Going to try this. Thanks for posting.

My thoughts exactly but I elect to slam it from the passenger side. Seems to work for the few times I'll ever put it down.

Thanks for sharing. I have just had my XLT for a week and became aware of the issue first day, almost took it back to dealer but just used extra force to get it to latch. I may try your option with the 2 washers, I really wasn't comfortable with the amount of force it took to get it to latch.

Yeah I was surprised how hard you had to slam it to get it to work too.

After a couple of weeks mine latched more easily. I assume the seat foam smushed around after a little while.

I did the washer trick, and after about 6 months I took out the washers (due to eliminating possible causes of the back wall rattle) and it latches no problem now without washers

Yeah, doing a WWE body slam to latch it shut is really exhausting!

just unscrew the bracket from car and add 2 washers to the back, I did fix my 2023 maverick also my friend ranger
I thought it was annoying too, I'll try your tip, thanks, but I got used to it not locking , I didn't have to fumble looking for the strap, Do you see any harm in the seat not locking? Maybe in a serious accident the seat flops open and stuff in the cubby goes flying out, I think I answered my question.
