I have a 2022 XLT with a factory B/U camera and the image on the screen is pretty much useless and I’m wondering where I should start for pin pointing if it’s just a bad camera or if it’s a bad wiring connection somewhere. Or if anyone has had this problem?

Provide us a picture of what you state is blurry.

Assuming the camera lens is clean, could be the camera or the display, maybe try a hard reset on the Audio system and see if that does anything. Did it just start being that way all of a sudden?

Wow. Thanks for all the help. Really only one decent reply, and a bunch of insults. What a great community to be a part of. 🤦🏻‍♂️

This isn’t a joke or an insult. Nobody knows your mechanical abilities, so you have to go with the simplest answer first. Have you thoroughly cleaned the rear camera lens?

As another member mentioned earlier the hard reset might work. Mine looked similar to yours at one point and the reset fixed it. If I recall correctly you just hold down the power button and right seek button for around 10 seconds until the screen turns black.

Or maybe the OP needs an eye exam.
That is my problem - even the view out my clean front windshield is getting blurry. My next DMV eye test will restrict my night driving - per my eye doc. Rarely drive at night now preparing for that restriction!

Possibly a Sasquatch hiding in the bushes behind you, try reversing somewhere else.

ABMaverick,
yah…smartassery abounds on this forum. I think there are a lot of 12 year olds on here.
I just block them when I see them acting like A-holes.

It could be that water vapor got inside of your camera. To check for this hold an ice cube on the camera for several minutes to make the water condense against the inside of the lens (like condensation on a cold glass of iced tea) then tap on it several times to make the water run down to the bottom. Wipe the outside off then Check your backup cam view again to see if it’s better.
I doubt that this is the issue but it’s one thing to consider, my friend.

Is there any chance anyone ran over the lens with a buffer and a cutting compound or "color restorer" or similar product?

Edit: BTW when backup cams were owner added mostly, buddy had one that went cloudy after a year and on examination, still had a shipping film pulloff on it. Not heard they use one on these unless it was replaced for camera recall and tech forgot.

LOL....you set up the pins and gave everyone on here a bowling ball to knock them down. :p :p :p Honestly...my FIRST thought when I read your post was "His camera lens is dirty"....without seeing a single pic. It's just the nature of the beast. Gotta have a sense of humor on here. I do...but I've also learned a TON of information from the regulars that post and answer questions on here. Sons of a Bitches even told me to "Use the Search button" and what do you know.
