Azure Gray vs. Area 51 color

Maybe it’s a better paint, more chip resistant and stronger. Had a 83 Nissan in metallic sky blue, it held up well. The A51 does chip easily in my experience. But I still love it.

Looking to switch to a different color for my rollover. Going toward Azure Gray based on the pic. Haven't seen one in real life. I've seen plenty of Area 51 both broncos and Mavericks and do not like it. What do you all think?

I believe I read that Azure is a $900 option. If this is true, I'd pick another color.

I think both those colours are gone for MY24 anyway so not a hard choice here.

Azure grey was just added for ‘24.
Azure being Spanish for blue
Does the bronco in fact already offer the azure blue? I read an article suggesting that, but there have been so many misinformed articles I’ve read about mavericks

According to others on this forum (& reddit sub), if it's like the other more costly colors, it won't be any stronger or chip resistant. Just more costly.

Area 51 is a lighter blue. Azure is a darker blue. There are Azure Gray f-150,bronco's,and Mach-e. Area 51 is discontinued and Azure is the replacement

My bad Azure Gray is a new colour for Maverick. If you don't like the deleted Area 51 I don't see how you would like the Azure Gray.

Go with the Azure Gray. I'm with you, not a fan of Area 51. It's not as hideous as Cyber Orange (school bus yellow), but it still hasn't grown on me.

Pretty confident that Terrain will be exclusive to Tremor.

Actually saw both today, side by side, while waiting on my A51 Maverick to come out of a warranty service check.
Azure looks more grey for sure, and the blue is toned down a bit, and it has metallic flake in it.

A51 is more blue and a flat color. I love A51, but I’d be just as happy with Azure.

I’m actually going back tomorrow morning to drop it off for the EGR replacement and will try to remember to snag a photo if they’re both in the same place before I leave.

Update: Both vehicles have been sold, so no pics.

Chances are it will be a $495 or $595 up charge. Ford charged $495 more for alto blue, cyber orange, and hot pepper red for the Mavericks in 22 and 23. I'm pulling the $595 number as a guess because everything else is going up.

I think the metal flake will be nice, but likely not noticed unless seen in person. Cameras will struggle to capture it in most shots especially from a distance.

It’s a flat color. I never said anything about clear coat or gloss, the color itself is flat.
