Automatic high beam

The auto high beam system has worked flawlessly since I received the XLT in June 23 until now. We had a lot of rain the past few days and now the automatic high beams will not come on. Settings is still set for it to come on but when I travel down the road where it always came on nothing happens. No error messages and high beams work manually. Anyone else ever experience this issue.

I love those things, but sometimes I push something wrong. This link is to the online manual. Scroll down to EXTERIOR LIGHTING, expand, and then there are two sections on the auto high beams. Also they have a video on the feature.

You might try disabling/re-enabling the feature in your settings.

Where I live, auto-high/lowbeam headlights just don't work very well most of the time, probably due to hills & curves. I had to disable that feature.

I cleaned the windshield 3 times yesterday last night I took it out for a test and it worked but now that leads to another question. The manual says it works when speed reaches 25 mph. It appeared to me I had to go much faster than that but when I’m paying attention to driving seeing if the brights came on etc I’m not sure. Is there a way to adjust the speed setting?

i would guess the sensor has dirt or salt blocking it?

Could be but since I’ve been in Florida since December it’s not road salt.

I did some experiments (I'm an engineer!) and the auto high beams won't come on on my 24 XLT before ~35 mph.
Similarly, lane keeping won't engage below ~40 mph, and disengages if you slow below ~35.

I knew about the lane keeping because the symbol won’t show green below a certain speed.
As for auto high beams I’m positive when I tested it before the recent rains it came on around 25 mph. Ford must have changed it for the 24 models from the 23 I have.
