You own and like your hybrid, I own an eco, that’s what I wanted, I respect your decision. I will never put down a person that chooses that. Hence I expect respect for my decision as well, If not, then💥
he has an ecoboost. two of them, actually, an Explorer and a Maverick. 😆

I own two EBs. In fact, 99% of the time, I'm fine with the truck turning off at lights. It's just I live in the South and it never does because the A/C is running.

But as a "solution" to pollution, Auto Start Stop is silly. There are more effective methods.

Please name a few.
Subaru's PZEV (partial zero emissions vehicle) catalytic converters that at idle (so at a stop) actually produce cleaner air than the engine takes in....

Nope I’d rather my balls in the door of my maverick than drive a hybrid. They do nothing for me.
So if I tow the same load as you up the same hill as you, in a hybrid, can I slam your balls in the door of your Maverick?

I'm guessing that would get a few views on the internet.

Same has been said of Ford's Hybrids.
They said (20 years ago?) you could run them in a closed garage and wouldn't kill you. Yet I still have not seen anyone bring tailpipe exhaust into the cabin for heating. Think how much gas that would save in winter!

Best way is TURN THE ENGINE OFF when you don't need it.

Nah there is plenty of data out there on the 8F35 and previous HF35 and HF45 to know they are more robust than the 8F35 which is not meant to handle power or abuse. That would go to the 8F57
Do you can point to a hybrid that been pulling 4k lbs on the regular? Pretty sure you can’t because they are not rated for that so even if they fail that’s not the trans fault. Much like if mine fails I can’t blame that. I’m tuned for much more power and trq and I regularly pull well past the 4 k limit many times doubling that.

Until you tow with it your opinion is just that and all conjecture based on zero real world experience with it.
You think I haven’t towed with it. It’s not nearly as good as the ecoboost for towing. Much like when I crossed shopped my 150 I looked at the eco diesel.

I haul trailers all over the country. So how would a power boost help me? Battery only has limited capacity. So if I set my cruise on the highway I’m relying on the gas engine for almost all the power anyway. How does that power boost help?

I can tell you one thing for sure. I purchase and drive a lot of vehicles some on here know that .i get to test a lot of them over many miles. I once was a v8 no turbo 6 guy. Then they simply got better. When that time come that the hybrid does what i need it to better I’ll get one. But much like a electric car you won’t be able to sell me dreams and unicorn farts

Well that is an interesting proposal. Lol
I’m sure it will haul it. I’m not saying it won’t but anyone who says it will do the same or better power wise is being intellectuals dishonest. Once your battery is drained you are on a non turbo 4 cylinder. Rated at a lot less power. That’s just facts.
Think of say 8 miles steep grade. Your battery doesn’t have the capacity to allow the electric motor to help the whole time.
Say we both put 8k behind us. I know my eco will still be doing 70-75 by the time I hit the top. I’m willing to say the hybrid won’t be

Yes like an ecoboost on e85. More power and less emissions.
We all win.
