Please, any existing owners confirm something about the Auto Hold feature. If you have it turned on and shut down the truck, upon restart the truck should automatically turn Auto Hold back on. It's supposed to remember at start up if it was on or off at last shut down. Thanks.

It stays on as long as you don't turn the function off manually. It is a great feature and I love it, no reason to shut it off.

Yes, unlike the auto stop/start feature, the hold feature selection is retained when the pickup is turned off and on again later.

I think it is great, works extremely well with the auto-shut off feature (of which the Maverick is as close to seamless as I could ask for - of several vehicles with this feature that I've driven, it is worlds apart a best implementation - measuring against my 2019 Ranger fx4, and a rented 2020 toyota rav4).

Good to hear Auto Hold is working as described in the manual. I ask because the manual for my '21 Lincoln Navigator has the exact same verbage in the manual as the Maverick's, but it will not remember the last setting. On start up it comes on, but immediately turns off. Back to the Maverick though, I'll be checking this myself when I get mine. Thanks all.

.... I have yet to say..."I wish I had a feature like auto hold". I don't see a reason to every use it.

I think you're saying you don't see a reason to ever use Auto Hold. There's no reason really. It is just a great convenience. In my Lincoln here's one reason besides being a convenience. The Lincoln has the Raptor's engine. It's pretty peppy. I can get to the next light quicker than most. In "Excite" mode (sport) the Auto Off is disabled and the engine is idled up a little to reduce turbo lag. Auto Hold acts like a line lock. You only need to hover above the gas and press to go. Quicker and easier than moving your foot from brake to gas or using the two foot method. That split second is the difference in beating the guy next to you at the light. Now, I don't go around racing the Lincoln, but I play around a little bit.

What's the convenience again? Being able to get to the next stop light before the next guy?
Is that how it's worded in the manual?
Anyway I am glad someone has found a use for it....all the best.

This is a great feature, especially in stop and go driving.

I'm looking forward to using it in the drive-thru.

Remember to turn it off before entering a automatic car wash.

You need to go back and reread my comment. Much more carefully. Your reply isn't remotely representative of what I said. Is it safe to say that you don't have hands on experience with Auto Hold? I believe so. Since you have no experience with the feature you are not qualified to say it isn't convenient, imply that it isn't convenient, or even question its convenience or existence at all.

Okay now, it is a great convenience. It is just plain nice to come to a stop, take your foot of off the brake (like at a long stop light), and just sit there relaxed. When you wish to proceed just press on the gas.

Good old fashion cruise control just holds your speed for you going down the highway. You can easily do this yourself. You don't need cruise control. But man, is cruise control convenient. It is nice. And adaptive cruise control just up the game and makes it more so. It's the little things that make life grand.

But for you Caper, I suggest never, never, ever turn Auto Hold on. I don't think you'll like it. There are some of you out there that won't. That's okay.

Excellent point! There's a learning curve with all new things. Auto Hold and drive through car washes don't play nice with one another.

Why doesn't the manual show you a picture of where the button is on the console? Could someone post on here a clarification if where the button is so I can make sure it is where I think it is?

I'm not a fan of auto-hold for most driving. The truck tends to lurch once the gas is applied, instead of the usual smooth start.

That said, there are certainly times when it will be useful. I'm glad that the truck remembers whether it was enabled or not after it's restarted (unlike the eco/normal/sport/etc mode).
