I put in an auto dimming rear view mirror. Any brand will work. All you need is 12 volt switched power. Easiest mod I've done since adding tailgate letters.

Anyone have auto dimming side mirrors on their Maverick?

Some trims of F-150 have them.
And other makes & models have them.

Any source for ones that fit a Maverick?

Having auto dimming rear-view mirror is nice. But after a while it feels like wearing one shoe.
Better than no shoes. But not great either.

Please answer poll also. Show interests to third party manufacturers.

Thanks.

I really need to install the auto dimming rear view mirror.
Everyone crows about it's only a flick of a lever.
What you'll never hear them talk about, in the shortsightedness of their statement. Is the fact that the auto dimming mirror, switches between dim and normal while you're driving, so that when there aren't cars right behind you you can still clearly see them coming up in the distance.
I'm not crazy about messing with anything electrical. So it has to be plug and Play.
Because of the way my side mirrors are adjusted. I don't have any problem with headlight shine.

Side view mirrors are usually at an acute angle; less than 90 degrees so the images bounce into the passenger compartment.

With the electric mirrors, I've been known to make them close to 90 degrees at night. But it's bothersome to do routinely.

Or even full 90 or a bit obtuse if I have an obtuse driver behind me with super bright and/or mis-angled headlamps.
Always a crap-shoot if I can give them a taste of their own medicine.

Your mirrors are incorrectly aimed. If you can see the side of your vehicle without moving your head over, then they are set up wrongly and aside from the problem of glare, you will have blindspots almost beside you. If they are set up properly then you do not have the glare problem and do not have a blindspot on either side.

My 94 Cadillac had those, I think they are more useful than an auto dimming rearview mirror, which a manual one is easy to operate.

Not if you're actually changing as often as the automatic rear view mirror changes from normal to dim and back.
I like the fact that the rear view mirror changes back to normal if there's not a car directly behind me and I can see any cars coming up from a distance.

Had auto dimming mirror on my ‘17 Fusion; vehicle before my 1st Maverick.
I miss it.
If the Escape or Bronco Sport had it, that would an easy swap; but they don’t.

To make it work, at least how Ford did it on my Fusion, there is a separate wire coming from the auto dimming interior mirror. It gets tripped when the interior mirror is tripped. So no sensor in the side mirror, it lets the interior one do the work; pretty simple.

As far as those saying to aim the mirror differently, the auto dimming cuts the glare and makes what you are seeing clearer, so no matter how it is aimed it helps.

It’s a drug called “Knowledge of how to properly adjust side mirrors.” Quite unfortunate. One hit and it’s a lifetime addiction.

I have never heard of auto dimming side mirrors and also have never felt a need. Now an auto dimming rear view mirror is wonderful.
Same concept.
Apparently lots of vehicles have them.
Just not the "entry level" ones.

But sure, you can't miss what you didn't know existed.
