Ok everyone, for those who haven’t seen my (many) previous posts/comments, I have a 24 XLT FX4 that I have been trying to upfit with Lariat BAP headlights. The taillights from an XLT/Lariat BAP are plug and play, so that install was great!! The headlights, another matter. The lariats have a separate DRL wire coming from the BCM. On the XL/XLT models, that wire is present in the harness, but towards the headlight assembly, it is spliced into the low beam wire. I separated them, and used a pin kit to wire it to the proper place on the headlight connector. New lariat lights installed, with a LIN the low/high beam work as they should. However, it will not send power to the signature DRL on top.

Looking into forscan, many DRL settings. Been playing with all the options for quite a while to no avail. Nothing I do makes the signature DRL’s light up! There are a few people on this forum that have claimed they’ve been able to do it with modifying software in the body control module, while others have said that there was at one point a plug and play harness available. I’ve tried reaching out to these people, and either they don’t respond, probably because they think I’m some scammer, or they no longer own the vehicle and can’t look back to see what they did.

Does anyone have any advice on where to go from here???!!!

I can't help you much with your question, but I was wondering if you know which pin(s) in the BCM is used to send power to the DRL?
Since you mentioned they exist, I though you might know the pin outs from the BCM for them.
Thanks

Have you tried turning the truck on and off?
Many times haha… been at this every day for over a week! I’ve gotten nowhere. I wish the seller of the PnP harnesses would just message back and sell me a set!

Are you using the default settings for a Lariat?

I can have a look at what Forscan shows and post it if that would help.

Here are some pics of what my BCM originally looked like before I made changes:

I then asked a member of the community with a lariat to share their BCM to compare:

What are you trying to do with the DRLS? Just curious
I purchased a Diode Dynamics fog light kit for the Maverick with the backlight feature. When the fog light element is not on, the backlight LED in each lens (amber LED) is lit.

I plan to activate the backlight LEDs via the DRL output from the BCM. The power for all the lights in the kit is supplied from the battery so I'm not worried about overloading the BCM.

I already knew about pins 6 and 7 (left and right fog light) to activate the fog lights in the kit.

Thanks again!

No problem, if you wanna save yourself some wire, and you feel comfortable enough, peel back the wiring, loom and covering for the wiring going to both headlight main connectors. That wire from pins eight and nine, respective for each headlight, is spice to the low beams circuit right there, so you could save yourself some time wiring directly from the BCM and splicing into that wire near the front of the truck. I’ve attached two pictures, the first being the driver side, and the second being passenger side. They’re a little crude, but they help show where those voices could be. It may save you a little bit of headache.

Hi Ryan,

I know you probably haven't had time to look into it yet but was wondering if you may have come across something yet? Thanks, just sitting here mad at myself for even trying this... i know better than to try haha...
