We had the under hood fire and taillight recalls done last week. so far so good--though my son did manage to get into an accident...with a Ferrari. Ferrari was totalled (and unregistered and uninsured!). While we were sitting there after the accident, the truck went into deep sleep mode. I got a jump and it started up again no problem to drive to the body shop. I would guess this was probably not from the recall but because of the truck being left on for a while after the accident or that maybe something got jarred.

I need an oil change, but am leery of taking it in to the dealership for fear that they install the software updates that are/were bricking the Hybrids. I feel like we are seeing less posts about the issue. It that true? Have they actually slowed, or are people just not reporting it as much because of all of the threads already in existence?

Anyone had the issue lately? Or had the recall software update in question recently and not had any issues?
I had all my recalls done when I went in for service (used my Ford points for service) The last recall was done in my driveway when Ford sent a service truck at no cost to me. I never had a problem after a recall was taken care of. Ford has my back!

What recalls? I just checked the Ford App I don’t see any recent recalls on 23 hybrid.

My last recall screwed up my radio and my cell phones ability to make calls from my contacts list. When I go in for the current recall I will make note of the issues. I like going to the dealer as much as I like a dental visit.

~250 miles since I did everything at the start of May. PCM, BCM, IPC, taillight, everything. I am completely caught up on recalls now, including the most recent fire one.

No weirdness to report. So far, so good.

No issues. Well I did have to clear the DTCs after updating.

I will have to say that around early March this site was getting hit daily with "bricked" and "loss of power" complaints after having the recall down in late February to mid March. Seems like Ford was able to isolate the recall issue and since late April to now, I haven't seen issues posted.

Those with issues who received the updated BCM programming seem to be quiet, indicating it fixed the issue, and the last few posts were of those having the recall performed at least several weeks ago.

We need some recently performed recalls within the past couple of weeks to chime in. Problem is many only chime in when something goes wrong. The new wrench in the mix is they're now going to also flash the fire recall, for which my notice arrived on Wednesday, along with an offer by the local Ford dealer to call and schedule my recall.....not the seller dealership my brother works at. <Apparently Ford {or someone} shares the owner information, or makes it easily available for the dealers to access>. I've had issues with the local dealer in the past many years ago and do not use them, and would take the 30-40 minute drive or have their mobile service come down first.
I had the BCM recall fixed Monday, 6 May. No issues.

I’ve had 3 latest recalls done today May 11: bcm, taillight, and engine fire. Drove abt 20 miles today. No issues before and none now-except the hyper flashing I have now bc of my lasfit leds I had installed previously.

Seems like some dealers are not installing the software updates properly. Hopefully your dealer knows what they are doing.
ABTremor posted this =
From page 6849 of the service manual:

Electrical Energy Management System

NOTICE: When any vehicle module is being programmed, connect an external battery charger to make sure the module programming is completed without interruption due to the load shedding feature becoming active. The external battery charger must maintain a system voltage above 13 volts. This may require a charger setting higher than the lowest charge setting. The external battery charger negative connection must be made to an engine or vehicle chassis ground and not the negative battery terminal. If the connection is to the negative battery terminal, load shedding may begin and module programming may be corrupted. After charging has begun, start the engine to clear any load shed states and then turn the engine off and proceed with programming.

I’m getting the 3 most current recalls done on June 3rd. 🤞🏼
‘I go June 5th. I’m expecting Lasfit hyperflash at least. Hopefully nothing else.’

I've had all relevant recalls performed without any issues so far. My approach to any software update is to install them individually (if possible) to provide isolation, this helps with any troubleshooting efforts. '23 Hybrid.

I'm in the same boat. I still am holding off for a few more months to make sure Ford has worked out the bugs. The truck runs perfectly now and I certainly don't want to screw it up over recalls.
I am also waiting to have them done around August when I will need to have the oil changed.

We are going on a major 12 day 2500 mile trip starting at the end of the month and certainly don't want the dreaded "loss of power" happening at highway speeds in the middle of nowhere.

I know that supposedly Ford fixed the issue but without them absolutely stating so I am not rolling the dice before the trip.

Ford makes that info available to all dealers. So if you have trouble, you can go to any Ford dealer and they can see your truck's dealer DTC, repair & maintenance history.
.

What recalls? I just checked the Ford App I don’t see any recent recalls on 23 hybrid.
If you've taken the truck to a dealer for any service, they may have already done the software updates while the truck was there. If so, it should be on your receipt. Otherwise, check for Recalls for you VIN at https://www.ford.com/support/recalls
Sometimes, they don't appear in the buggy app.
