Last week my 2024 Lariat infotainment system started to demand that I accept the CarPlay conditions before CarPlay will start. So every time I start the truck I have to press three buttons on the display. WTF…

I’ve had the truck for 5 months now and this was unexpected. Any idea why this has started to happen? Is there a way to bypass the accept screens or permanently accept the conditions?

While I can't say it with 100% certainty, we just bought a 2024 Subaru Forester this weekend and my wife has the same "Use this at your own risk" warning she needs to acknowledge every time. I suspect it is an Apple Car Play thing (maybe due to a recent app update) and not a Ford or Subaru thing.

I do not get the messages in my Lexus. So I don’t think it’s an issue with the phone. Yet.

Victor, did you notice if it's also forgetting any settings, such as saved stations, etc?

I don’t use the radio at all. Only CarPlay. I does seem to be forgetting the CarPlay settings tho. I set them, and set them again. I’ll check again tomorrow.

I'm far from a computer programming expert, but I did a lot of reading on Sync 3 issues due to my own Sync 3 experience.

To summarize the best I can from what I learned is; there is a couple of file versions used on Sync 3 (one being 3.4.22251) that have an issue where areas that store data for short term weren't deleting the old un-needed data. It would build up until those areas were filled and stored items in memory, like settings, would start being forgotton. Once this happens it is difficult to update to a newer version as it lacks the needed memory to allow for the update.

My understanding is it needs that available memory to store portions of the update before it can overwrite the old files. The fix is to delete that old data which allows the update to begin. Deleting that old data also fixes the issues that brought the problems up in the first place.................until it builds up again.

The fixes that a peson can do themselves is over my head, and there is danger of causing the APIM to fail if done wrong, so I wouldn't recommend trying it yourself.

Maybe someone else on here has a better understanding of Sync 3 programming and can chime in if my understanding is off.

If you have Sync version 3.4.22251 it might be your issue, and worth talking with Ford to see if they can update it for you.

Or, it could be something else entirely. Like others said, maybe a carplay problem.

Good luck whatever you do.

That’s the infinite loop protecting its large bunghole. there’s gonna be more and more every year soon. I’ll buy subscription we have to pay for and there’s no way you can stop it.

first step in trouble shooting a Sync problem is always a reboot. Especially an issue that just springs up out of nowhere.
