So 1 out of 3 times, I exit my hybrid and I get a pretty good zap from what im assuming is electrostatic electricity. It Doesn't matter what clothes I wear and it doesn't happen in my other 2 vehicle's. Any tips or similar situations please post.

YES!!! I thought it was just the dry windy California weather we've been having down here. Not only do I get zapped once, I get zapped multiple times. It generates a pretty good spark on the first zap. I drive a Mercedes and a Corolla along with the Mav and I don't get zapped after driving those. I even got shocked once inside the car while adjusting the radio knobs and the volume went all the way up for a split second.

Hmmm- I get shocked in my FIT all the time (don’t have a Maverick yet), and it depends entirely on what shoes I am wearing. Not sure why no other car does it, but I know the shoes are key in not getting shocked.

Floor mats don't make a difference either. The OEM carpet ones are pretty fuzzy but even when I switched to the all weather rubber mats, it still did it.

After 1300+ miles in a month and a half owning, I can not remember a zap of any size in my XLT hybrid. Had some pretty dry and cold winter days lately too.

I get shocked pretty good when I wear sneakers but not wearing my work boots. And on occasion, when I wear my down filled puffy jacket. Doesn’t matter the type of day outside.

This happens to me now that I think about it. You are never alone in the MTC!

Because the floor mats do not conduct electricity to dissipate the built up static energy .
