That seems something specific to your dealer, I’m not aware of any Ford corporate program that would offer that.
My price protection was $2,750 I was given a certificate number.

It isn't from Ford directly. Your dealer was reimbursed for the price increase, and they have passed that on to you.

Some dealers are offering the "price-protection" up front. Some are reimbursing afterwards like yours. Some are doing nothing and keeping it for themselves.
My dealer is keeping the check as the ADM😡

That isn't price protection.... that is the model year transition private offer rebate.
Price protection is something different.

Price Protection is different than Private Offer.

Private offer is a rebate and my dealer said by law they can't keep that.
I believe Price Protection is not a rebate.

Is this at all related to mid-year 2023 price increase? I thought the XL Hybrid went from 22195 to 22595, but I don't have the numbers in front of me.
When I go to the dealership in a few months I expect to pay the higher amount, and if I do, will Ford reimburse me the difference eventually via the dealership? Although I have not had coffee today and this may all be wrongly remembered.

Mine provided it up front in that when we got the truck (Aug 2022) they subtracted it from the sticker price and I paid what was agreed on when it was ordered (dec 2021).

Price protection is always sent to the dealer from Ford. Technically, "price protection" is protection of the dealer's invoice price. It is the dealer's price that is protected, not the customer's. The intention is that dealers will then be able to sell to the customer at the originally-agreed-upon price. Dealers should extend price protection to customers, but they don't have to.

For rebates, these have to be disclosed to the customer. There is an option to have Ford send a check to the customer, or have Ford pay the dealer (and the dealer then applies the rebate to the deal).

My dealer called me the other day and said they had a check for me. Not knowing what this was about but always willing to take money when offered I headed over. My sales person said it was a rebate because of price adjustment protection based on when I ordered my truck. The check was for a little over $550, which is a very welcome surprise right before Christmas.

Not sure if this is just my dealer or if it will be company wide but everyone might want to check with their dealer to see if you have the same thing.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 You are so funny!

I was price protected with my 22 Maverick. And about 2 months after delivery, my salesman called to tell me I got a check waiting. From Ford through the dealer. $1021 bucks.
