you could rig a simple Arduino circuit that would run each motor to the end of the track to zero it, and then run them the other way a specified number of milliseconds.

A little tricker would be to add an extra couple of buttons to more easily program it, but till a minor project.
This is what I was thinking, though I would prefer not to use that runtime method of tracking position as that can be a bit finicky. It’s better than what I have now though

That would certainly be the most expensive way I can think of to get both of our seat positions memorized.

She would likely still drive mine out of spite though
So you are in a position right now where if you play your cards right, your wife gets the Maverick, and you get a new vehicle.

hills. dying on them. something something. not worth it.
ahh.

clear proof you're a married man, and not new at it!

:teehee:

there are also really cheap short range sensors for Arduino, but you're not likely to get the precision you want. Maybe put it on the floor pointed towards the front of the seat?

Or count revolutions on a pulley. That's going to be mechanically more complicated, which I why I keep coming back to timing.

It's certainly possible with low tech--the 1953 Cadillac Eldorado had memory seats! I've always meant to look into how it did that; I've assumed it's a mechanism like the tab settings on a manual typewriter)[ok, that car also cost more than some Rolls Royces that year, so no reason to assume that it was cheap or simple!].

I know OP saw my post in another thread, but I’m posting a link here in case others did not.

@dochawk Has given me something to think about. I already have an Arduino running in my truck, to disable Auto Start/Stop. Figuring out a sensor would the trick. Swapping a motor from another seat might be the simplest. Low range distance sensors are probably not accurate enough. Since everything is in the motor housing, I don’t believe there is a visible gear to count revolutions of.

Strongly considering picking up a bronco or escape seat motor off of cart-part.com and doing some desktop testing

Check the part number of the seat motor and compare it to Bronco. It will tell you if it has the rotary encoder needed to be a feedback signal. That’s the first step.
If it has it, hopefully it uses the same connector as Bronco, although probably with the pins missing.

Wife randomly decided a few days that she didn't want to take her Expedition somewhere and decided to drive my Mav. I then used it a few hours later and of course the seats and mirrors had been adjusted. nbd, I just adjusted everything back. But she drove it again yesterday. I think she's starting to like it for quick trips where taking her land yacht doesn't make sense and that's fine with me. What's not so fine is having to adjust my seat and mirrors every time I get in the car. It's annoying.

Wondering if anyone has modded in memory seats. I have power mirrors and the driver's seat is also powered. Not sure if anyone has taken the time to see if the motors have a hall sensor or feedback line that could be wired into an Arduino or something, or if anyone has figured out a way to install OEM style memory seats/mirrors.

I'm okay with even just one memory setting - for me, to undo whatever she's done as I drive it way more often that she does, but its starting to look like she's going to start driving it often enough for this to get real annoying, real fast.
Trade it in for a new one which is the easiest and fastest

Not even the MY25s have memory seats and I don’t expect the MY26s will either. Even if they did, I just purchased mine a little less than a month ago so trading ain’t happening. I tend to drive my vehicles til the wheels fall off. Unfortunately, with the CV failure rates these things are seeing, that might actually happen literally.

My wife will drive mine, and if I don't notice, I will get in and knock myself silly on the door sill! She puts the seat as high as it will go. Same thing in the RAV! If they had the option for memory, I would have gotten it!

Maybe you should trade in the "Land Yacht" and get her a Maverick.

I’m starting to think this forum might be a little biased towards Mavericks

Well played. Unfortunately I bought a lariat because I am a bit of a princess myself.
I'm in the market for a '26 Cadillac, but would settle for anything from '24-'28, Realistically, I'll probably have to get a Model A while I wait.

In any event, it's getting A/C, hopefully in a way that can quickly uninstall & reinstall.

Does this make me a princess?

And, if so, is Late Onset Princessdom fair to my twins who were obsessed with princesses growing up?
🤔

pleae keep us posted.

Here are some wiring diagrams I got before.
Looking at these, it seems the recliner motor, in our Mavericks, have a sensor in them. If so, you might be able to test with that.

First one is the Maverick; 6-way seat.

These 2 are Escape again. They show the details of the sensor wire versus the motor itself.

This what the Escape power passenger looks like.

This is the memory seat switch.
