The Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3 225/60R18 Size?
I’m sticking to the stock size.
Looking for a tire on a Mav picture?

On my stock Michelins Primacy’s I would avoid the crack seal lane, it’s the right lane that the trucks tear down the fastest.
It’s noisier and rougher with vibrations just big enough to make me move left and ride in the passing lane.

Always watching for fast guys coming up behind me.
I’m not an asshole !
I Move Over before anyone has to lift off the gas.

These new Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3’s
Feel so much better,
Smoother,
Quieter,

I can ride in the crack seal lane and not feel anything that would make me want to ride
In the left lane.
They feel great !
12/32 tread depth not the 9/32 of the Primacy’s.

Those pictures, I stuck to the stock size, I like my quickness and my mpg’s
I am glad I didn’t go larger.

That $505.00 number is what went on my debit card.
In a month or so I’ll get $160 back from Ford In rewards points.
That’s TWO full synthetic oil services !

Now I want you all to pay attention!
This is one of many reasons I like my Ford dealer…..

$505 on my debit card minus $160 in points that will cover TWO Full Synthetic services.
$505.00
-$160.00
—————
$345 for the tires.
SO !
I got FOUR $170 tires for $86.25 EACH !
And that’s a total out the door price.
Mounting, balancing and the old tire disposal fee,
INCLUDED

I know I know it’s a brain teaser to justify it my way.
I won’t buy tires from any other source.

Buy three tires get one free.
Well I paid a dollar, they are $170 each.
The dollar should show I think.
She applied points I already had, brought it down even more.

Great deal you scored on those Pirelli's and they look great. We are in the market for new tires for our 23 Escape Hybrid AWD which came with the same Primacy's (and same size) that your Lariat came with. I really like the price of these Pirelli Scorpion's but I do notice they weight about 30lbs whereas the Primacy's weigh in around 26lbs. I'm thinking that extra 16 pounds of heft would have an effect on our MPG's in our Escape Hybrid. Maybe you can chime on the effect of these new Pirelli's on your MPG over the next few tanks?

$160 in points? $160 = 32,000 points when 31,000 points are awarded with a new vehicle purchase?

Earn 10 Points for every dollar spent on other eligible purchases:
  • Ford Services
  • Ford Accessories
  • Ford Parts
  • Connected Services

$505 spent x 10 points per dollar equals 5050 points valued at $25.25

However, are Pirelli tires even considered a Ford Accessory or a Ford Part and therefore eligible for any points?

"Limitations apply. Earn Points for the purchase of Ford, Motorcraft®, or Omnicraft™ parts and associated labor at a participating Ford Dealership."

I could not follow all that. My paperwork was different I guess.
I’ve never sat down and counted points or how many I get per dollar spent.
I had points. That and the $169 off for the buy three get one for a dollar March sale got me to $505.00

Maybe it’s best to word the rest
Thusly:
After paying the $505.00
I will get points enough to give me two $79.95 full synthetic oil services at no charge.
My dealer always gives the fifth service free even with full synthetic oil.
Plus the very first service is free.
So,
My 3,000 mile service was free,
My 9,000 mile service cost me $80
My recent 15,000 was again free due to points earned.

I didn’t ask why or how I was getting free services. Good enough for me.

Then this tire sale as stated.
The next Two services are free,
@20,000 and again @ 25,000 miles,
Both of the above are from the tire deal with points earned on a price of $170 per tire x 4.

That brings me to my fifth service after those two freebies.
SO !
My 30,000 mile service is the fifth one so it’s free.

Who knows, maybe I’m saying it all my wrong but that’s how they did it, that’s how they told me it worked.

Yeah often times you have the peel the layers of Cherokee's stories like an onion.

Nobody else without points was walking into that dealership and walking out paying $505 for 4 new tires. He still got a great deal but it wasn't $505. It was $505 supplemented with points*

I'll try to type slower for you.

You stated that as part of the tire purchase you would be receiving points valued at $160.

$160 in points equals 32,000 points. (that's more points than Ford provided when buying a new vehicle now).

The Ford Rewards site states that customers receive 10 points for every dollar they spend on "Ford, Motorcraft, or Omnicraft parts and associated service ".

You didn't purchase any of those qualifiers in your story, you purchased Pirelli tires., It doesn't appear you are due ANY points, and certainly not points valued at $160.

Even if Ford gave you points for the $505 you claim to have spent, that would equal 5050 points worth $25.25

And to clear up your story, did you use existing points to purhase the tires? because that was omitted. What's the -$143.65 on your receipt? (Payment of your existing points toward the tires and service?) Post up the full redacted receipt.

The story you've told is that you walked in and paid $505 for (4) new tires, mounting, balancing, etc. and you were getting $160 of points back at part of the purchase making the net effective cost for the tires and service $345.

The reality
of the story is that you paid $505 on a credit, paid $143.65 using your points, and likely are getting zero points as a result of the purchase, resulting in a net cost of $648 (cash and existing points)

This is like 5th grade math, right?

I know, right? It appears that small detail was omitted for the story.

You can't make this up..

Some people would pay good money for entertainment like this :crazy:

Anyway, took a 300 mile trip,
Mountain switchbacks,
A little Inner city boulevard,
80-85 mph interstate,
and some 60 mph highway.
All except the inner city was about an equal mix.

These Pirellis were the quietest, smoothest tire I’ve ever owned. I’ve had many Michelins and they are really good but on my Mav these Pirelli’s out classed every type of Michelin I’ve ever had in every category I can think of.

Only once a few days back I was on rain slick roads. Again they felt great.

Running door plate psi cold.
Just sayin’

As for the crazy low price I paid as stated ln previous posts.
Yes it was partly because of earned points but that’s just another reason go to my apparently honest affordable dealer for all my service work.

Fully cloaked in a good extended warranty and no one but Ford working on my Mav gives me peace of mind.

As of 2010 I’ve owned nothing but Fords.
From 2010 not one single F’ up at any Ford dealer I’ve used.
