I didn’t see this mentioned anywhere or I missed it but I would consider calling Dealers about orders that have been canceled by customers and not yet arrived at their lot, especially a dealer that you have been working with in the past that has been helpful. Rather than buy a junk car while you were waiting I would consider offering the dealer however much you were willing to pay for another car as an ADM.

You would be saving on transferring tags, sales tax and possibly insurance. good luck! I found my truck by calling around and with the help of the MTC members😊 I also helped a MTC member purchase the one I turned down.

BTW, ignore comments of some members who don’t understand online etiquette 😕
This. I have contacted other dealers for Mavericks posted on their website, which all turned out to be retail orders. But I told them to keep me in mind if there is an order cancellation. Now I have a couple dealers that periodically touch base with me, and had my own dealer offer me a cancelled order this week (I declined it).

As for used cars, with a beater you risk needing ongoing maintenance (there is a reason the person is selling it), and risk paying top dollar now, only to see the value fall as the months go by. If at all possible, just wait it out.

Why did you decline one, price, color or options? An FE CarbG with window deflectors was definitely not the one I would have ordered but I was thrilled finding a hybrid with cruise control and not having to buy overpriced diesel for my F250 when I take my monthly 1000 mile trips! I couldn’t be happier with my FE Lariat- no regrets!

I ordered a Hybrid XLT Lux, but they were offering a EB XLT Lux with AWD, 4K, and the trifold - basically $4,000 more than what I ordered, with a tonneau I definitely don't want. And it was Area 51, because apparently everyone is ordering Area 51.

I understand! I was too late to order a Hybrid and had to order the EB so when this FE hybrid showed up unclaimed I jumped on it!

Well I know of at least 4 people who have written to Ford and now have build dates. So that's 4 people who have directly expressed their disappointment with Ford and it paid off. Would that happen with everyone who wrote to Ford? No I doubt it, but it's good to know that Ford is listening to those who have taken the time to write. Maybe if more people did then a real change could happen and Ford would have an ordering that made sense. Instead of random hodge podge system where older orders are passed over for new orders.
Just to provide an update:
On 3/17 I got a called from someone at Ford (Trisha Johnson?) who shared that she is the one dealing with the emails that are being sent to higher up, since "they don't manage customer services email" (?). Ms. Johnson was very polite and shared that Ford is looking to provide customers with more updates on their orders. UHM.....now I am wondering if this is why some of us got that email on Friday stating there is no updates. Long story short, Ms. Johnson shared that she had reached out to someone to see if they can provide me with some sort of time line of when my order will get fulfill. I told her that at this point, I would greatly appreciate some honesty if this vehicle will get fulfill in 2022 or 2023 so that I can make an inform decision. She seemed to be sympathetic to the long wait that many of us are experiencing, but also provided many excuses/explanations (e.g., constrains and factory shutting down because of COVID, ects) as to why it was taking so long. She told me to give her some time to investigate and she will reach out to me next week. I did obtain her telephone number and she said I can call her for follow up. Lets see what happens, but not holding my breath on getting a VIN number any time soon and getting used to the idea that I might not see my order until 2023, but it will be nice if am wrong about this.

Glad to hear that you at least heard from someone. I'm also wondering if that spray of emails on Friday is someone finally taking notice of all the customer complaints about information. Looking forward to hearing the results she comes back with next week.
