This. I have contacted other dealers for Mavericks posted on their website, which all turned out to be retail orders. But I told them to keep me in mind if there is an order cancellation. Now I have a couple dealers that periodically touch base with me, and had my own dealer offer me a cancelled order this week (I declined it).I didn’t see this mentioned anywhere or I missed it but I would consider calling Dealers about orders that have been canceled by customers and not yet arrived at their lot, especially a dealer that you have been working with in the past that has been helpful. Rather than buy a junk car while you were waiting I would consider offering the dealer however much you were willing to pay for another car as an ADM.
You would be saving on transferring tags, sales tax and possibly insurance. good luck! I found my truck by calling around and with the help of the MTC membersI also helped a MTC member purchase the one I turned down.
BTW, ignore comments of some members who don’t understand online etiquette![]()
As for used cars, with a beater you risk needing ongoing maintenance (there is a reason the person is selling it), and risk paying top dollar now, only to see the value fall as the months go by. If at all possible, just wait it out.
