Anti - theft Alarm System

I added the setting to mine with Forscan but it doesn't do anything. Whether you set All Sensors or Perimeter Sensing the Perimeter Plus is still active. No way to turn it off.

The setting was meant for vehicles with Interior Motion Sensors, which Maverick doesn't have even though mentioned in the manual, so you could disable the interior sensors.

You have been really helpful and I’m still trying to figure out features. I have 23 Maverick hybrid with Lariat lux. I don’t see an alarm feature on my screen, so I’m thinking it doesn’t have an alarm system? I’ve attached a video of the step per the owners manual…no alarm option.

Yours should have the basic Perimeter alarm included on the XLT and Lariat. It includes the doors and hood(supposedly.)

You can test it by locking the truck with the window down. After a minute or so reach in and open the door and the alarm should go off.

The Perimeter Plus is an add on. I bought mine here and installed it myself. It adds a two-stage shock sensor as well as alerts through the Ford pass app when activated.

I have installed, but do not get alerts through my Ford pass app - is there a setting somewhere?

The sticker does list "Perimeter Alarm":

Going through the menu of "Settings/Vehicle", it only shows "Windshield Wiper". In order to actually have perimeter alarm, I'd need to purchase and install perimeter plus?

My sticker says the same thing and in the video that I made, there is nothing about an alarm when scrolling through the screen options. Perhaps it appears if you install the perimeter alarm option.

Thank you! And once installed, that’s when the alarm option appears on your screen options?

Mine doesn't even show the "Oil life", or the "Remote start". That's probably due to the fact that TCU (Telemetry Control Unit) had been disconnected. I'll probably reconnect the TCU just to see, if that would change anything. Doubtful...

I still don't understand... If you purchase a vehicle with "Perimeter Alarm", then you require to purchase and install additional option, isn't that "bait and switch" in a traditional sense?

Now, I am wondering, if my Mav has "Securilock - Anti-theft Sys", or does it require optional package as well?

Well, at least I didn't need to purchase an engine, wheels, transmission, etc., separately...

According to the Ford website, "Perimeter Anti-Theft Alarm" is a standard feature on the Lariat and XLT Trim, as well as the SecuriLock Passive Anti-Theft System. The "Perimeter Anti-Theft Alarm" is not included on the XL Trim

Page 84 and 85 in the Owner's manual also describe the "Anti-Theft Alarm" (same name as what's on the Window Sticker and on the Lariat/XLT Standard Features pages).

No mention anywhere about a "Plus" option required for these on the Lariat and XLT.

So either the website, owner's manual, Windows Sticker, and related documentation are all wrong, or this was supposed to have been enabled at the dealer/factory and wasn't.

Interesting... So, I paid for security features, that are not installed/enabled. Even if I push Ford on this, the excuse probably will be "Oops, we made a mistake on the sticker, website, owner's manual; they are all wrong". That's just not ....right...

You are not alone about alarm. There are misprints in the owners manual. Manual states to push lock button on fob. Does not state you have to push it twice and hear the horn sound to get basic alarm to work. No one seems to know this, to include the folks at ford that the dealer talks to. Everyone at my dealer was surprised I found this. I found this out on a post in this forum. So the loaded maverick lariat only has the basic alarm that all maverick's should have. Don't forget the manual will not tell you how to use the alarm. This only works using the fob, will not work when using the sensors on door handles, to lock and unlock truck.

Heres how i found out the hard way my xlt has it!
I was on a long road trip and spent a few nights sleeping on the passenger seat, so first night i put up my window covers and setup my ipad on the dash to watch some youtube, after a bit i reach for the back seat for snacks or something ? Then the alarm went off horn and lights and its like midnight at this point anyways i reach for keys and shut it off and then realized my motion and slight rocking of the truck set things off. So for the rest of the trip i would reach all the doors from my seat and lock them manually from inside problem solved. So if you ever leave your DOG in the car go around and lock doors manually. I guess I had not moved for a few minutes while watching ipad but when I did

I just confirmed that my 2023 Lariat built in mid Feb has this listed on the window sticker, and does not have the alarm settings menu in the display.

If it does actually have it, I would like to have the menu settings to be able to turn off the inside perimeter sensors when I leave my dog in the truck.

I’m with you as well. I don’t understand if there is an additional step, such as buying and installing, the Perimeter Plus to activate everything
