Has this happened to anyone else? My son noticed the base of the antenna on his lariat was not flush with the hood. We checked ours, and the same thing had happened. We always hand-wash our Mav's. The only thing in common was having it washed at the same dealership after getting an oil change. The service people said something must have hit the antenna, lifting the base. However, we know this did not happen with our care of the Mav's, and how would the exact problem have happened to two separate vehicles? Of course, it is not covered under warranty, they say, and they made no effort to consider their car washes, might have loosened the adhesive; or the roller brushes lifted the stubby antennae base, and caused the issue. Customer Care was of no help, nor were the service center staff. Quality control and decent components have gone downhill. It is a reasonable expectation that an adhesive is strong enough to withstand a car wash.

The roof does not look flat? The antenna base had to have been wrenched forward to cause this and to have it happen to both trucks seems strange. Does the dealership take the trucks through a roller brush car wash?

My roof is flat and the antenna base sits flush still!

A shame to see that happen, but even more of a shame the lack of accountability the dealer has. It sounds like you and your son take good care of your Mavs. Hopefully this dealer will come around and rectify the issue, or another dealer will.

You confused me at first. The picture helped! I have not had that happen, but I've only hand washed.

Here is a photo of my 2023 Maverick XLT hybrid. I 100% use tunnel style automatic car washes.

Just had it washed the other day.

You guys have had me running down stairs and out the garage twice (so far) today to check things that were brought up here. Guess I am getting some exercise, like it or not. lol....

Nope, mine is still fine and I use a auto wash place (water pressure only on the roof) often since I purchase the truck 11 month ago.

I would hope this is also attached with hardware and not just adhesive?

Roller brush car wash. Definitely something wrenched it out of place.

Only one screw holds the base in place and it is accessed via the rear dome light. Then there is adhesive on the top to secure the base and make sure water doesnt enter through the screw hole.

This may sound silly but are there low hanging tree limbs on your driveway that could catch the antennae? I ask because I had some that had grown longer this summer and dropped down enough to catch mine when I backed into the turn around.
Nope. Absolutely nothing hanging to cause this on either Mav, at our home nor our son's home.

From your mouth to God's ear. Yes we do take excellent care of our vehicles. Hand wash, oil changes when needed, special graphene treatment to preserve the paint, deflector, special windshield treatment. You name it we've done it so our vehicles stay in tip top shape. This dealership is short sighted in that we had referred many people to their dealership previously because of excellent service, and they purchased vehicles. We were also considering purchasing another vehicle from them, but not anymore after this. Ford has let us down in quality and customer service.

I had a Kia Sorrento for 3 years. The dealer offered oil changes for life, which was a PITA since they only did free ones 2 days a week, and free car wash when in for service. It was a automatic car wash and the 1 time I let them do it the rear wiper blade was damaged. Same thing they said the car wash didn't do it. But they did offer to repair it and replace the blade at regular rates. I declined and never went back for the oil changes either.
Sorry this happened to you, but at least they offered to do something to correct the situation. Smart of you to choose other options for future services.
