Yesterday in anothe post someone mentionned this product:
Pulsetech PowerPulse Battery Maintenance System
https://www.amazon.com/Pulsetech-Po...typ_rtpb_d_sccl_1_1/147-9878909-5068338?psc=1

Since on the maverick everyhting is electronic , it seems that to have a battery always in tip top condition is essential.
This prodcutct is relatively inexpense and the person in the post yesterday swears by it.
Do you have any experience with it?
Thank you.

I just found this website and I found it interesting: https://www.batterychargersinfo.com/how-does-a-pulse-repair-battery-charger-work/

This item would de-sulfanate the battery but is not a trickle charger. Would recommend sticking to the tried and true Noco Genius series to handle both. I mounted the 2D model near the jump stud and the power cord barely sticks out under the hood. Eliminating low battery FordPass messages too.

How often do you have to charge the battery?
Since I am going to drive mostly in city, I expect to have to charge the battery often, may be daily.
Which size of charger do you use?

Here is a charger from the same company that also has the pulse function (first link below). While I have not used this brand, I have used a pulse desulfider for years on my lawn/snow equipment. I used to replace that battery every 2-3 years but I'm on year 7 for the last battery (same brand and model).
I use a BatteryMinder model 1500. It is a trickle charger (1.5 amps).

the noco genius 2D was $39. Spend more if you want…
I see the low battery FordPass reminder in about a week if not driven much, so I’d suggest plugging in the trickle charger overnight once a week. Vary if necessary.

Do I have to use FordPass ?
I hate any "connected" thing
No. Just pull fuse#11 in the passenger floorboard fuse compartment if you don't want it phoning home to Ford. Disconnecting that fuse will affect absolutely nothing else, except maybe extending your 12v battery life.

Hello, I am the one who posted that yesterday. The biggest difference between the desulfating charger and the "onboard" desulfater is the charger has to be plugged into 110 to be desulfating. The onboard unit is desulfating 24-7 because it remains hooked to your battery under your seat. Not a charger at all. So if your Mav sits around a while you may still need to charge it.

I use a noco genius 5. The difference between it and a genius 2 = the 2 will take 2.5 times longer to get the battery up to 80% or (?)% soc. After which the g5 drops to 2 amps and they will function the same. However any current used by the truck will be reduced or replaced causing a slightly longer run time. I put my g5 on my hybrid mav about every 3 months or when my dome light doesn't come and leave it for 5 days or more. (If I need truck during those days I just take g5 off for the time I need it. No big deal just keep on battery until light stays solid green without any orange lights are on). Dealer replaced my battery after 34 months when I complained about low voltage. I got the MAX version 470CCA/585RCA instead of original 390CCA/?RCA one. The g5 may cost $20-$30 more. I also have a genius 10 which I use on 6v 400AH deep cycle batteries (if they are at 6.1 volts it will take the g10 7-8 days to charge and run the optimization routine).

I swear by Pulsetech. I've been using their chargers for many years and typically get 8 years out of SLA batteries. There's nothing wrong with Noco, but I've only used their jump boxes so I can't make comparison to their chargers. I've never had a need for an on-board charger, no do I expect to as long as I have a garage.

Would it be possible to get a picture of how you connected it. I am thinking of doing the same. I could not get the 10mm bolts off to connect the Noco Genius 2D. Thank you for your help.
