Another false alarm...

Yesterday, I had my driver's side door open and was looking for something I left in the Maverick. With the driver's side door still open, I opened the driver's side rear door and the alarm went off.

I don't get it... is there a reason this should happen?

I always keep the vehicle locked when it's in my driveway, so I had used the key fob to unlock the doors before I opened the driver's door. Shouldn't the fact that I used the fob to unlock the door deactivate the alarm?

I guess we'll be in the dark on this since no one is answering. The same thing happened to me this afternoon on my 2022 XLT except it was the passenger door that I opened.

It hasn't happened to me again, although I'm still a little gun-shy when I open one of the back doors.

Wish I could say something helpful but I’ve got no clue, I can only say that’s never happened to me so far. I have, however, hit the alarm on my fob many times when it’s deep in my pocket thats full of other stuff as well. Makes me feel like an idiot trying to desperately fish it out to stop the alarm.

My alarm likes to go off occasionally when I park the truck, turn it off with Push Button, then open the door to get out. Random.

I haven't been able to duplicate the back door thing, but I can set off the panic alarm with the best of us.

The key fob is just so darn big.

I have also triggered the panic several times on my Maverick and I would bet that is also what's happening here. It's by far the most logical explanation.

The panic will go off whether the truck is locked or unlocked, doors open or shut, it explains every scenario listed in this thread.
