I took possession of my new Maverick a week ago and for the first few days had no complaints what so ever... then I took it on the highway. On a 300 KM drive we experienced a very annoying rattle in the passenger side IP above the Glove Box. Only above 90 KPH (>60 MPH) and continual until I reduced speed. It was so disappointing to hear, and a real piss off. A brand new vehicle should NOT sound like this.
The noise varied in strength from brutally loud and very annoying to minor (easily drowned out by music). It also dissipated around curves (?) and lowered when we changed roads (wind direction?). But it continued on the trip back home.
It does not happen in lower speed city driving but happens 100% on the highway.
I'm in the auto industry and the plant the Maverick comes from is actually known for good Quality - so my purchase decision was partially based on the expectation the QA system in Hermosillo would give me a reliable vehicle NOT AN ANNOYING ONE.
I'll be taking the vehicle to the dealer but they have no experience with this vehicle so I'm sure I'm going to have a real problem solving this. And removing a Dash Panel will creates future loose and rattling components so that's not an option... this is frustrating.
Mine is rattling too from the dash....just got it last week. Might also have to go to the dealer to resolve

So… I thought mine was gone…NOPE!!! Yesterday took a trip to Michigan, all highway miles, I had one adult passenger in the front and back seat, a tad windy, but the big difference!! Temp was about 15-19 degrees outside, sunny, and again slightly windy. It was on the rippled, washboard, or wavy roadways between 65-82mph it did it. I don’t know if the cold makes it worse or not..but I think it does, I adjusted heating and radio to compensate for it and blamed it on ice as it was embarrassing.. I was showing off the truck to my father n law and I was like there has to be ice around the window etc…. There was some ice on the hood but not the problem! It went away once we got off highway…. It appears when the vehicle has to float on the suspension it does this?? Like speed float…. Can’t figure out how to say that. Lol

I can't seem to find the video....

There was a guy on YouTube that if you take the seatback off the rear seat there are random pieces of metal support that buzz and vibrate over bumps he was saying.

Good area to put some BUTYL sound deadening on.

Rear Seat.....under the upper seat back on the "firewall" that connects to the bed.

does this sound's RPM change with the RPM's of the throttle? or is it the RPM (frequency) fixed sound like a vacuum pump makes in an aquarium from what I can tell. It would drive me coo coo to hear that all the time. It could be a one off thing others with the 2.0 should report this phenomena as well.

I'm having an issue similar to this while I'm stopped at a light (auto start stop off). I will get a random rattle/ thumping nose in the driver side footwell for a few seconds then stop. I have my first oil change scheduled for next week and having it checked out then.

Just got back from having it serviced at the dealership yall. Here is what they said:

I can confirm that the noise has been taken care of.

So those of you that were reporting a similar issue, maybe look to the fuel line? I seem to remember another member on the forum mentioning that in his case it had been the fuel pump on his Maverick. Probably worth keeping an eye on it or at least keeping this in mind if the rest of you run into a similar issue/noise.
I think I have this same issue. By chance do you know where the low pressure fuel line thats rattling is under the hood? If I can just add a zip-tie and avoid a dealership visit, that would be great. I know I could have someone rev the engine while I look and listen, but I'm a solo dude with few people around to ask for help. thanks

Id like to know too.. i can't find where it rattle. The line fuels under the hood doesn't touch anything metallic. maybe it does behind the fire wall but i doubt because it appears to come from somewhere near the passenger side under the dash or the vehicle.. not close to the gas pedal either,, But one thing for sure, mine only happens when i press the gas pedal and its running on fuel.. but once it switch to hybrid the noise is gone.

do you need to lift the vehicle to access the fuel line?

i tried to remove the head unit and the little airbag trim on the passenger side.. but still can't reach far enough to see the source of that sound.

last time i went to the dealer it didn't want to rattle.. my rattle is metallic like yours but not that loud. But its the identical metallic high pitch rattling.

I am having the same issue but not as loud. Mines happens between 1600rpm - 2100rpm. It gets worse when the vehicle is warmed up. I did some investigating and it sounded very pronounced right under the shifter. I took some of the plastic panels off to look under the shifter and I did not see anything that would be causing that noise. I also went under the truck and pressed on some of the heat shields and I did to feel a gap anywhere. I really don't want to waste a day of work at the dealership for this but I guess I have to. Also, I did notice the noise when purchasing the truck and asked the salesman about it, and he said it was normal. It defiantly is not normal.

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

Alright Guys so I figured out what my rattling noise was.
Under the vehicle you need to remove the black underbody panel on the drivers side. Under there right next to the exhaust resonator you will see a fuel line. There is a white bracket that holds that fuel line and a few other lines. Well that fuel line vibrates a lot and was also making that plastic bracket vibrate. The plastic bracket was vibrating on the metal frame of the truck and was causing an annoying rattling noise in the cabin of the truck. I put something very small and soft in between the plastic that was the metal frame, and now there is no more rattle. I hope this helps someone out there. This noise was driving me crazy and I spent all week trying to figure it out.

This thread is a bit old. I am wondering if this is the definitive solution to the ā€œ1300-1500 RPM vibration under loadā€ issue.

I have a ā€˜24 Lariat 2.0 Ecoboost AWD 4K (with 394 miles on it) with the issue. I have had it at the local Ford dealer for a little over a week now and they have been trying to diagnose. The first update from the shop was that the noise was normal. I politely said it may be ā€œtypicalā€ but certainly not normal. I took the shop foreman out for a ride when I brought it in so he could hear the noise for himself. The update today is that they seem to have isolated the noise to be near the ā€œtransfer caseā€ (maybe they meant the PTU) and are getting a Ford engineer on site to take a look.

I am curious if anyone else still experiences this issue and, if not, what was done to resolve it.
