Update: My maverick was indeed totaled. I cant complain with the payout. For now I bought a Honda Element to get me around. I'm not going to lie, not having a car payment is nice.

That is tempting. But what if I get hit again? is the safety of the vehicle compromised? If it was just me and the vehicle was already paid off......I might go that route. I'm still waiting to see what the payout will be. Hopefully it's a fair number.

My poor Maverick was rear-ended at a stoplight a couple weeks ago. My daughter was pretty shaken up, but we're fine. Almost $22,000 in damage! Seems wild that it's totaled. I really enjoyed this truck and I'm not looking forward to vehicle shopping again. 😥 Just here to commiserate.
