100% agree that literally everything about the radio and infotainment screen is absolute garbage and an embarassment no matter what the truck's price level is. It is rediculously glitchy and the display quality is bottom of the barrel.

Sorry man, I disagree. A basic infotainment screen it may be, but I've had zero issues in two months and 2,000+ kms of use. No issues with anything on the truck actually.

In my case, it was the cable. Switched out to a OEM cable for my phone and the frequent Android Auto drops stopped. I am glad it did, because I was starting to lose it!

If you're going to get a quality cord to hook your phone up, go with Anker. I've been using them for years and have yet to have an issue.

Today I drove from Oklahoma City to Branson, Mo in my Mav using AA with absolutely no problems. However, I was listening to SiriusXM on the trip. I don't know if that had anything to do with it or not.
Thanks for your service!

For example my Oneplus 9 is already super glitchy and honestly a hot mess on its own, definitely dont recommend it and I plan on switching soon.

I'll keep this updated thank you for all the replies and input everybody.
Good to know. I'm waiting for Sprint/T-Mobile to offer a free One Plus 9 or Samsung S20 FE for disabling my LG G6 next year on my spare line. Was leaning toward the S20 but for sure now as I use AA daily(and wouldn't mind having "true" screen mirroring again.) My Moto Ace 5G is my main phone and I've had zero issues with Android Auto(on my Pioneer NEX2500 or our Equinox,) and I use Spotify/Maps/Podcast/ etc.. with no problems daily.

Anyone you know that could test out a different Android phone in your car?

I use the Samsung S20 FE. Very few problems with it. I love the wireless charging in my Mav plus it charges while using Android Auto so it stays charged.

I did the same. Was using an aftermarket cable and was having problems. Switched to the OEM cable and so far no problems.

I've had zero problems with Android Auto using an S20FE and Pixel 6 Pro. I use nav and Spotify at the same time with no issues. I've actually been pleasantly surprised how well Sync works. I had 2 Cadillacs with the CUE system and they were terrible.

There is a known issue with the head units, though most complaints are of it freezing up, volume/tuning not working, and slow to respond. Add your complaints to the list I guess. Ford has acknowledged the problem(s), but has not given any get-well date yet as far as I know. You might try a complete reset of the head unit (Since I don't have mine yet, I can't talk you through the steps, but on my Toyota Sienna, it was under Menu - Settings - Delete Personal Data. This removed all pre-sets, BT connections, AA authorizations, and as a bonus, forced a software update to the latest version.)
Yeah, mine is sum times un responsive shortly after start up, like its not ready to do something

I'm glad you report no problems with a S20FE as that is what I have. Hopefully, I'll be able to test that theory soon. (6 Jul order Area 51 hybrid w/lux - still no build date)
