Get one of the wireless android auto adapters? I had a Pixel 4a that developed a lot of issues about what it'd connect to. AA via cable didn't work, PC didn't work, some USB sticks it could read and others not.

It should auto-start AA once you plug the phone in, you've tried 2 different cables (more common problem) so likely a phone issue. I have an S21 and there's a pop-up on the phone when you plug in the first time to allow access, if you've denied that you may have a setting off in the phone somewhere. I believe there is a setting in the menus on the truck where AA can be disabled, you may need to look around and see if there's something in there that got turned off.

Also, there was an issue early on where the actual USB on the truck wasn't connected to the harness behind the plug, as long as your phone shows charging it's fine.

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be my cheap cord, I see you tried another cord, maybe borrow a cord from a friend to eliminate that. am assuming you have android auto on your phone.

This may be the problem.

Regicide should look in the pull-down, after they connect the phone to the USB for the first time. There should be a notice to grant the truck access to the phone. Also, look at the Permissions in the AA app itself.

There are two types of cable, charging cable and charging/data cable. You cannot tell which is which by looking at them. Make sure you are using a data cable.
