Android Auto 15.3 Update

Maverick owners using Android Auto: the 15.3 update just landed; it focuses mostly on bug fixes and subtle design tweaks. No flashy new features. Pixel 10 users will be glad to know major grey screen issues have been fixed, and there are improvements for audio controls, especially with volume and music playback glitches that have been a problem in recent months.

The ability to use fast-forward and rewind controls from the truck’s dash is working more reliably again, and satellite radio (like SiriusXM) menu problems have also been sorted out. SYNC 4 in the 2025 Maverick supports both wired and wireless Android Auto, just check your app is up to date, and try a reinstall if you see anything weird after updating.

Feedback is mostly positive so far, though like any update, a few minor bugs might linger.

Am very cheap my phone is on android II, am hoping the phone blows up soon so I can get a new one, still works fine in my Maverick.

The Android Auto worked so much better in my 2019 Mustang than this 2025 Maverick. When I am listening to music from my phone or spotify, I cant get back to the radio. The home screen doesn't have any source control buttons. I literally have to turn off the phone to let the unit revert back to the radio since it is the only source available. Also, saying "Hey Google" brings up "how can I help you" but then shuts off. Sometimes I can use the microphone button on the steering wheel or I have to manually type in the phone number to make a call. I have aftermarket radios in my other two cars that work fine with my Google Pixel 7, Android 16.
